Yes, you must have to start preparation for examination from now to qualify in Civil Service examination conducted by UPSC to become an I.A.S Officer.
Yes, if you have interest in Arts stream it is a better choice of selecting it as an discipline paper which will help you in UPSC examination. The basic rule to start preparation for examination is :- * Current Affairs ( Newspaper, Online study material, Magazines ). * Writing Skills. * NCERT books (6th -12th all subjects other than language). Note :- * Preparation must be through a proper strategy and dedication. * Don't try to read to many books for same topics as it will create confusion. * Regular Evaluation is required. |

Re: How can I proceed further to become an IAS Officer after admission in degree course?
Yes, you can proceed for preparation of Civil Services examination along with degree. Just follow given below steps:
>>In first phase of your preparation, focus on fundamental books like NCERT and NIOS books of social science subjects right from standard 6th to 12th. Make your self notes. Along with this develop a habit of reading daily newspaper either The Hindu or The Indian Express for understanding national and international affairs. >>In second stage of preparation, focus on standard books like Polity by Lakshmikant, Geography by GC Leong, History by Bipan Chandra etc. >>Now, you can either join any good coaching or continue your self preparation for this examination. Practice previous year papers and practice mock tests as much as possible. |

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Civil Services Exam every year for the recruitment of IAS, IPS officers and various other posts. Yes, definitely you can start your preparation for this exam in the meanwhile of your graduation course. For this you have to:
>>Read a newspaper daily to get aware about current events. >>Prepare general studies from a good book such as Lucent Publication, Arihant Publication etc. >>Prepare your own notes while reading any subject. This will help you lot while revising the subject. >>You can go through the previous year paper which you can download easily from UPSC website and can join any good coaching institute for preparation as well. |
