Re: How can I become an IAS officer after passing 12th arts
After passing 12th it is not possible to become an IAS officer as the minimum academic qualification for IAS is Graduation. But after passing 12th you can start preparation for Civil Service Exam to become an IAS officer.
To become an IAS officer one should crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year by applying and appearing for the same. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for the reserved candidate. The selection is through three phases:- -CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam -Civil Service Main Exam -Personal Interview So if you are interested to become an IAS officer then you have to first complete Graduation and you should at least prepare rigorously for one year before sitting for the CSAT exam. Re: How can I become an IAS officer after passing 12th arts
Since you completed 12th with arts, it would be natural that you pursue Bachelor of Arts which is 3 years long graduation course. After completing BA you will be able to apply for the Indian Administrative Service.
However this is not required that you pursue BA, you can go after any other graduation course and yet apply for the Indian Administrative Service. So please apply for a bachelor course of your choice. After completing graduation, just apply for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The forms are released in the months of November or December after which you will called to appear for the entrance exam. Eligibility 1. You should be of Indian origin to apply. 2. A bachelor degree in any stream from a recognized university. 3. There is no percentage requirement for IAS. Age Limit 1. General - 21 to 30 years. 2. OBC - 21 to 33 years. 3. SC/ST - 21 to 35 years. Exam Pattern 1. Preliminary Exams 2. Main Exams 3. Interview Number of Attempts 1. General - Four 2. OBC - Seven 3. SC/ST - No limit |

Re: How can I become an IAS officer after passing 12th arts
Dear Friend,
First of all i want to tell you that there is no way out through which you can become an IAS Officer right after passing 12th with Arts. If you want to become an IAS Officer , then you have to crack the Civil Services Examination which is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission. The Qualifications Required for Civil Services Examination are : a) Educational Qualifications : Graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university. b) Age Limit : 21-30 years. c) Age Relaxation : Granted to Reserved Category Candidates as per Govt. rules. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the above mentioned will help you to the extent you want. |

Re: How can I become an IAS officer after passing 12th arts
Soon after the completion of 12th class in Arts stream you are not eligible to become IAS officer.
The reason being the minimum academic qualification that is being required for the candidates in order to apply for IAS Exam is by completion of Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university. The candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply for this Exam. So, I suggest you to opt for Graduation in the stream in which you are interested (especially in Arts stream) and then you can apply for IAS Exam. Start preparation for this Exam from the very beginning of your Graduation. The selection procedure would involve Civil Services Aptitude Test Civil Services Main Exam Interview I suggest you to opt for any of the following optional subject for Main Exam Economics Commerce You should be in the age group of 21-30 years to apply for this Exam. In addition, you should be a citizen of India to apply for this Exam. Have good preparation for this exam and crack it. Wish you all the best.
