Re: How to become an IAS officer after passing 12th Arts?
Dear..
First of all let me tell you that if you are still in school the IAS is still a long way to go for you. It is a exam that can only be done once you get a graduation degree in your hand. It is good to see your interest towards the IAS exam in such a small age and if you continue to show this kinda attitude then you are gonna rock the paper First of all let me tell you the eligibility of the exam is as follows :- 1. All graduate are eligible 2. Graduation must be done from a recognized university 3. Only Indian citizen are eligible 4. Age limit is 20-30 years 5. Graduation subject does not matter at all 6. relaxation to those who belong to SC, ST and OBC 7. Attempts are also limited that is why a thorough preparation in mandatory. 8. No minimum percentage criteria for IAS. 9. Final year student can also apply for the exam. See if you are in class 12th then you should first of all complete your graduation. You are from Arts background and hence you can select Arts as your graduation subject also as IAS does not need any specific subject in your Graduation Then after you can go for the exam by applying online on UPSC website. Hope it will help Cheers...!!! |

Re: How to become an IAS officer after passing 12th Arts?
You will have to complete the 12th standard and then take admission in college for any bachelor course. Being arts student you may want to take Bachelor of Arts course. However the decision completely lies with you.
The qualification requirement for the Indian Administrative Service is that candidate should have minimum of graduation degree. Therefore you will have to target minimum of 3 years bachelor course. After completing the graduation you will be eligible for Indian Administrative Service. The selection is done through entrance exam. Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission is the exam that you will have to give in order to become IAS officer. Since there is too much competition, ideally you should start the preparation for both the set of exams while pursuing the college. It would be better to decide the optional subjects much in advance to have enough time for preparation. In the Main Examination the candidate is required to select 2 optional subjects. You will have to give 2 written tests for each optional subject. Similarly in preliminary exams as well you are required to select 1 optional subject. The secret of selecting optional subject is quite simple. You can choose subjects from the graduation course you have completed. Alternatively you are presented the option of selecting History or Geography subjects. It is important to start preparation at least 6-8 months before you wish to apply for the Indian Administrative Service. Don't put strain on yourself and start with 3-4 hours of studies per day. Eligibility 1. One has to be Indian Citizen to appear for Civil Service Examination. 2. Any bachelor degree like BA, B.Com etc is required. 3. There is no minimum percentage criteria. 4. The minimum age to appear for exam is 21 years. 5. Maximum age to appear for the exam is 30 years. Age Relaxation 1. The OBC candidate gets maximum of 3 years relaxation in upper age limit. 2. SC/ST are eligible for 5 years relaxation. |
