Any graduate candidate can apply for IAS examination and there is no specific Stream and there is no percentage bar required for this examination . To become a IAS Officer , you have to clear the two stage of IAS examination :- ~~Civil Service Aptitude Test ~~Main Examination . To apply for IAS Exam , candidate should have a completed bachelor's degree with any subject Commerce / Medicine / Science / Arts of a recognized University OR final year of degree course can also eligible to apply for IAS Examination . Candidate age should have a minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination . This year announcement was already declared and the examination was also already completed on 15/04/12 . To give the IAS exam one needs to be a graduate in any discpline from a recognized university.
Your age should be between 21-30 years of age. Exam pattern and the optional subjects have been listed below. |

Firstly I have to Inform You that The IAS Examination was conducted by UPSC Every year and to become IPS/IAS Officer, Then you have to apply for UPSC Civil services examination. To apply for UPSC Civil services examination, you need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university and Your age should between 21 to 30 years, Final Year Graduate/Post graduate Candidates are also eligible for This examination. The examination was Conducted by UPSC in Two Stages, First Preliminary Examination And After clear Preliminary examination you are eligible to apply for Main examination. The Examination are also called CSAT Examination, The UPSC have already changed the CSAT Examination Pattern and there are Two Papers in preliminary exams of 200 Marks Each with same Duration. You are eligible to apply for this examination.
Eligibility Criteria :- The candidate should have a graduate degree in any desire subject from a recognized university or equivalent qualification. The candidate age should be between 21 years and 30 years at the time of appearing. The relaxation is given to the various reserved categories. 4 attempts for general candidates,7 attempts for OBC category and No limit for SC/ST category. Selection procedure of this examination :- Preliminary Examination(CSAT) Main Examination. You need to apply at the Upsc website for appearing in the Ias examination.
Now coming to the eligibility criteria: Yes,you are eligible as the Upsc website just mentions that the candidate should have completed any degree from a recognised Indian University and should be above the age of 21. Next the pattern of the examination: It consists of 3 parts namely prelims ,mains and the interview. You need to clear the prelims ,a qualifying exam to be able to appear for mains and the interview. Start with the basic books preferably the Ncerts. |

-- Candidate must passed 12th standard with minimum of 50-60%Mark's. --Candidate must passed graduation with minimum of 50%Mark's. --Candidate age is not less than 21 year and not more than 30 years. -- Age relaxation is also available for reserve category. 3 years for OBC 5 years for SC/ST/PH.
