One can become Pilot either by qualifying Combined Defense Service Examination or Air Force Common Admission Test. Candidates who have successfully completed training program at the National Defense Academy after qualifying +2 level of examination are also considered eligible to join the Flying Branch of Indian Air Force and Become a Pilot.

Combined Defense Service Examination:

For Combined Defense Service Examination, candidate must have passed bachelors degree examination in any discipline with Physics and Mathematics at higher secondary level. The minimum eligible age to write the examination is 19 years and the maximum age limit is 23 years. The examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

Air Force Common Admission Test:

You may also qualify Air Force Common Admission Test and join the Flying Branch of Indian Air Force under Short Service Commission and in order to be considered eligible for the test, you must have completed your bachelors degree program with a minimum of 60% marks with Physics and Chemistry in the +2 level. A far as age limit is concerned, the minimum eligible age is 19 years and the maximum age limit is 23 years.

Both Combined Defense Service Examination and Air Force Common Admission Test are conducted twice a year and the notification for the same is published on the official website of the regulatory body conducting the examination:

• Air Force Common Admission Test: Indian Air Force

How can I join as pilot in indian air force being a candidate of pursuing 10th standard?

Dear aspirant,

-You can join Indian air force after 10+2 through NDA exam. You should have physics and maths in 10+2. You age should be 16 1/2 to 19 years.

-You can give also give CDS exam after your Graduation B.tech. For Air force wing of CDS your age should be 19 to 23 years .

-In CDS exam you have to give a objective type paper . If you score good in objective type paper you will be called for SSB interview which is of 5 days duration.

-You can also Join air force through AFCAT exam. For AFCAT your age should be 19 to 27 years.

-AFCAT is conducted for three branches of Air force i.e Flying Branch, Technical branch and Ground duty branch.

-You should be a B.tech or graduate in physics to apply for pilot job in air force.

-The selection is based on the written exam and SSB interview.

-You have to pass PABT test to become a pilot in Air force.

If you are applying for the Techncial post in Airforce , then only, you should worry . Because for the Techncial post , you should have a minimum of 60% in B.tech

As you want to become a Pilot in Airforce , you no need to worry about your percentage
Actually , You can apply for the CDS exam to join Airforce as a Pilot

CDS exam :-

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service exam

Generally , for the exam ,

A applicant should have completed Graduation from a Reognised university
The applicants' age should be between 19-22 years , for Navy
The applicant's age should be between 19-23 years , for Airforce
The applicant's age should be between 19-24 years , for Army
The candidate must be a citizen of india

-)) The exam Will conducts by UPSC twice in every year


Generally , the notification for the exam will releases in the months of , June and November

Selection process : -

->> Written exam

->> Interview

->> Medical Test

Exam Syllabus : -

1. General Knowledge - 100 marks

2. Elementary maths - 100 marks

3. General english - 100 marks

So, you can apply for the exam to become a Pilot in Airforce!!

By cracking NDA Exam, the candidates can join any of the following Defence services,
-Army wing
-Navy wing
-Air Force wing.

This Exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year.

For this academic year, the last date to apply for NDA I Exam was over.

NDA I Exam was already completed on 15-04-2012.

Here are the important dates for upcoming NDA II Exam of this academic year.

Date of commencement of notification : 05-05-2012
Last date for the submission of application forms : 04-06-2012
Date of NDA II Exam : 19-08-2012.

You should have complete 12th class or pursuing final year of 12th class in order to apply for this exam.

You should be with the age group of 16 1/2 years to 19 years to be eligible for this exam.

You can get the application forms for this exam in the designated post offices all over India.

As you are interested to join Indian Airforce so in order to get job as a Pilot in Indian Airforce you have to appear in the following entrance exams:-

CDS entrance exam
NDA entrance exam
SSC entrance exam
AFCAT entrance exam.

If you get success in any of these exam then you can get entry in Indian Airforce and there is also chance for you to become Pilot.

Eligibility Criteria :

Educational Qualification:

You should have passed the bachelor's degree with science stream with Minimum 55% marks from any recognized university.

Age Limit:

Your age should be in between 19 to 25 years.
There is 5 years upper age relaxation for the SC/ST candidates.
There is 3 years upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates.

Nationality:

You should be an Indian Citizen.

Physical requirement:

Height:
For men: 162 cms.
For women: 152 cms.

Chest : 82 cms without expanding
