Re: How to get a seat through lateral entry in B.E engineering?
You can join for the engineering course after completing diploma in engineering. There is a lateral entry scheme for such candidates. As per this scheme, you can directly enter in to the second year of the engineering course after your diploma. But you need to attend the entrance exam as part of this. If you get qualified in the entrance exam, you are eligible to secure admission for the engineering course.

Lateral entry scheme is intended to admit meritorious diploma holders to the second year of the B.Tech courses to acquire a degree in engineering. The top notch colleges of the country have the provision to Lateral entry for diploma. They have a fixed number of seats allotted for students. Students entering directly through lateral entry, complete their engineering in 3 years /6 semesters. The exam procedure, the course and the degree everything remains the same for the applying candidates.
Eligibility for B.Tech after diploma: Students who have completed first year in B.Tech from a recognised university or passed three years diploma after 10+2 with minimum aggregate of 60% marks in science and maths field. Those who are appearing for the final year diploma examination are also eligible to apply for direct second year engineering admission, subject to the condition that they shall produce the provisional certificate at the time of admission. Re: How to get a seat through lateral entry in B.E engineering?
Lateral entry is mostly for diploma students . Even the candidates who didn't like their college can change college through lateral entry .
* This is simple process . Just you to submit your certificates to them at the time of joining . There is no participation in counselling here . * Where as in some states they will organise an entrance test . you have to participate in that exam and secure rank . then participate in counselling you can confirm your seat . |
