My question is that when will the vacancies come out for the post of airmen non technical y trade ?

You can join Indian Air Force in two ways : 1)C.D.S 2)AFCAT.

Combined Defence Service Examination (C.D.S) :-

----->The candidate must have a completed graduation or engineering from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.

----->The candidate must have a studied physics and mathematics in 12th level.

----->Your age should between 19 years to 23 years of age and only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

----->Candidates who are studying in the last semester of the examination can also apply for this examination.

Air Force Common Admission Test(AFCAT) :-

The examination consist of Ground Duty Branch,Flying Branch and Technical Branch.

Ground Duty :-

---->You should have a graduate degree from any recognized university.

---->The age should between 20years to 27 years of age.

Flying branch :-

---->You should have a engineering/technology from any recognized university.

---->The age should between 19 years to 23 years of age.

The advertisement for Airmen Group 'Y' reruitment exam is published from time to time
on NATIONAL and/or STATE/REGIONAL level.

To stay updates with the advertisement and notification regarding this exam,
Employment News is the better source than web.
You should refer Employment News weekly and leading national/regional newspapers.

You should have at least 50% marks in 10+2 board examination.

There is two choices for you i.e AFCAT and CDS but for this you must have to complete Graduation or any equivalent degree.


Eligibility criteria for CDS:-

The candidate must have to complete graduation from a recognised university.

Final year persuing candidates are also eligible.

Percentage is not required for this exam.

The candidate must be a citizen of india.

Male and female both are eligible for CDS exam.


The age limits are 19 years to 23 years, no upper age relaxation.


Selection process:-

Written test,

Personal interview.

If you are completed graduation with atleast 60% of marks from a recognised university then you are eligible for the AFCAT exam.

Sir, my father was in Indian Airforce and my present age is 20yrs. Can I able to fillup the next selection test form for Airmen? Is there any age relaxation fof SOAP category?
