Re: How to join Merchant Navy after BSc Computer Science?
Basically for joining Merchant Navy having B.sc (CS) has nothing to do with the job there. You either have to opt for Deck Cadet or other part after having MBA.
Basically you have two options:- 1) Get 10-12 months Pre-Sea training and you can get to Deck side. Eligibility: 10+2 (PCM) with at least 60% aggregate, as maximum good institutes demand at least 60%. However possibilities are also there with at least 55% aggregate. 2) Get 06 months Pre-Sea Training Course for G.P. Rating (GPR) Eligibility: 10+2 (PCM) with at least 60% aggregate, as maximum good institutes demand at least 60%. However possibilities are also there with at least 55% aggregate. Age Limit: 21 years. 3) Get a MBA degree with specialization in Hotel management or Hospitality Management. This can actually fetch you a good job in on going Ships and Cruises. But actually it shouldn't be considered under Merchant Navy. Age Limit: 23 years relaxation must be there. |

Re: How to join Merchant Navy after BSc Computer Science?
B.sc graduates does not have any post in merchant navy...
but your 12th subjects are counted.. if you have physics, chemistry and maths in your 12th, then you can apply for the post of Deck Cadets. To get entry as a Engine Cadet/ Fifth Engineer/ Junior Engineer, you have to hold a degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Technology Engineering... so if you want to apply for that posts, you have to do a course in Marine engineering...or any of above engineering courses. all the best.... thank you. |
