Presently I am doing my under graduation in IIT Kharagour with science as my core subject.I wish to become an IAS officer after securing my BTech degree.I will be very thankful if you let me know the following details

For become a IAS [INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE] officer, you must have to clear the CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION,conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION [UPSC].
This civil service examination has three stages-
1.CSAT [CIVIL SERVICE ATTITUDE TEST]
2.MAINS
3.INTERVIEW [PERSONALITY TEST]

For appear in this civil service examination, you must have at least a graduation degree from a recognized college in any stream.

I don't think there is any need of coaching is required in preparation for this examination.

two exam should be gone through and should be cleared by you for
facing the interview for IAS.

Indian Administration Service exam is held once in year, this exam is part of Civil service exam and exam is conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility criteria for IAS exam:
Candidate should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
Age should be between 21 to 30 years for General category candidates,21to 33 year for OBC category candidates,21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates

Number of attempts:
4 attempts for General category candidates.
7 attempts for Obc category candidates
14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates.

Important dates for IAS-2012 exam:
Indian Administration Service(Preliminary exam) Notification for this year: Issue of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012.
Exam will held on 20th May 2012.
Indian Administration Service (Main Exam) notification for this year:
Exam will held on 15th Oct 2012.

i am a student of class 10 $ want to become ias officer so what qualities i must posess?

How many exams i have to clear for becoming an IAS officer? And is there only one interview to go after mains exam or any other interview before mains?
