CBSE Means Central Board of Secondary Education which is taking exams at 10th level as well as 12th level and also the exams like the AIEEE Exam.CBSE Board is the highly reputed board.

Their is subject that are compulsory in the 10th standard and their names are below:

Maths
English
Science
Social Studies
Hindi

These are the 5 subjects which are compulsory subjects means you have to take these subjects if you want to do 10th class through the cbse board.

Their is also a provision these days of a optional subject and you can choose any of the subject as optional subject which you want like Computer,Sanskrit.It all depends on your choice.

as you are in cbse so you dont have option as in isc..all subjects are compulsary...but in context to opt stream of your choice you should be strong in respective subjects

In class 10th, there are 5 subjects. But out of 5, the subjects which are cumpolsary are-
Mathematics
Science
Social studies
English
These four subjects are the cumpolsary ones and the fifth subject is optional. But the optional subject is not to be decided by the individual, it is decided by the school authorities. There are 28 subjects available, out of which one has to be chosen. The most common subjects chosen are-
Hindi, regional languages, physical education, sanskrit etc

Namaste ji I am an indian staying here in philippines with my family. My daughter is right now in fourth class here in philippines. I wish to transfer my daughter to india for studies but the problem is hindi lamguage she is holding filipino passport would it be compulsary for her to study hindi language also along with other subjects? We are planning to enroll her in fifth class next year, in any of cbse school in punjab can you please advise me regarding this. Hello, Actually, I want to take PUNJABI as an additional subject in 10 class but i haven't taken it in 9 class... So my question is that can I prefer it in 10 class without taking in 9 class ... Please reply fast ... I need it urgently
