SCRA exam has been temporarily discontinued by UPSC.

There was a certain procedure to become DRM through SCRA exam,

• After you qualify SCRA exam, you have to go for training for about 3-4 years.
• Then after training, you will be appointed in Group A Officers.
• You will be Junior Grade officer, here working at this post for 2 years will land you to Senior Grade officer.
• After 6-8 years of your same pay scale service, you will be appointed DRM on the basis of your skills and performance.

The salary of DRM is around 70k per month.

However, now in place of SCRA you will have to qualify Civil Services Exam to become DRM.
