Re: Criteria for participating in Indian Railway Service exam for DRM?
D.R.M ---- Divisional Railway Manager
To be eligible for DRM you must have a minimum of Bachelor degree or graduation from a recognized university. You will need to give an entrance examination conducted by the “Union Public Service Commission”.You must need to write civil service examination conducted by UPSC and from the categories you are required to go for the “Railway Service”.You must be creative and have good managerial skills. As you are willing to become DRM(Divisional Railway Manager) you must need to write an entrance exam conducted by UPSC.The exam is called “Indian Engineering Services(IES) exam”.Basically the salary could be around one lakh per month. The eligibility criteria for IES examination is given as follows. You must be an Indian Citizen. The minimum educational qualification you must have acquired is B.E/B.Tech.and only candidates with the following streams are Mechanical engineering,Civil engineering,Electrical engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication engineering are only eligible. The minimum age must be of 21 years and the maximum age is allowed up to 30 years and you can apply for this IES from the official website of UPSC.The application fee might be around Rs.200/- for general and OBC candidates.and the remaining candidates SC/ST/PH and female candidates are exempted from the fee.So you can become DRM you need go for the Indian Engineering services. |

Re: Criteria for participating in Indian Railway Service exam for DRM?
To be eligible for DRM you must have a minimum of Bachelor degree or graduation from a recognized university. You will need to give an entrance examination conducted by the “Union Public Service Commission”
After serving some 4 to 5 years in SA grade, you will be eligible to get a posting as a Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), depending upon your Annual Appraisal Reports and calibre. It is only a matter of 20 to 25 years of service after that initial IES or Civil Service Exam for you to become a DRM. |
