Re: How much to score in 12th and which course to choose for graduation in order to be successful for IAS?
The full form of IAS is Indian Administrative Services.
IAS is an All India Service of Indian Government. Candidates are selected for this service on basis of performance in Civil Services examination. Civil Services examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. Any graduate with passing percentage of marks in bachelor's degree can apply for this examination. Your percentage of marks in 12th does not matter for this examination. You can choose any stream according to your interest. Colleges do not give coaching for this exam. You can join bachelor's degree in Delhi University and prepare for exam by joining coaching institute in evening. |

After that you have to appear in Civil services examination. Once qualified then you have to appear for personal interview. |

To be an IAS officer in future, you can opt for any stream in your 11th standard in which you are interested and thereafter you will have to complete a graduation in any stream because to be an IAS officer there is no criteria for a particular stream.
As well there is also no criteria for percentage because it is under rule that a candidate must have passed in all the subjects. |

Re: How much to score in 12th and which course to choose for graduation in order to be successful for IAS?
There is no such percentage criteria to be required in 12th for appearing in IAS exam.
Also, there is no such specific course required in graduation to be eligible for IAS exam. You just have to pass 12th exam and complete your graduation course (like B.Tech, B.E., B.Com, BCA, B.Pharma, in any field to be eligible for IAS exam. In addition, you can also appear for IAS if you are in final year of your graduation course. Choose your graduation course wisely according to your interest, so that you may not feel boring while pursuing it. Colleges will not give coaching for becoming IAS. For getting guidance and notes for becoming IAS, you will have to join coaching institutes like: Ujjwal IAS Academy Address: Head Office: B-18, Top floor. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. IAS comes under Civil Services of Indian Government. Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services examination every year for this service.
Candidates who have done bachelor's degree can apply for IAS examination. Percentage of marks secured in 12th does not matter for this exam. Any stream bachelor's degree candidate can apply for exam. The age limit is 21-32 years for this exam. Arts stream candidates have some advantage over other streams. You can select stream as per your interest in that discipline. |
