Iam studying b.tech first year .i want to go take gate exam in third year.then how can i start my preparation for gate?

First there should be planning.To get rank in GATE is not an easy task you

should do smart work with good planning.

The syllabus for the GATE exam involves each and every subject that u will

go through all the 4 years of your b.tech.So,if your main aim is GATE..then

its better u pay more concentration through every subject that u deal from

now on.Actually,most of all start preparing for the GATE from their 3rd

year.Mostly it will be enough if you are good at your basics.So,to be good at

basics,prepare a running notes for every concept from your first day of

classes.

Always follow standard books for GATE. Try to cover complete syllabus. If

not possible expertise in what ever portion of syllabus you practice.

Try preparing notes after reading every chapter/topic. This may initially take

While reading any chapter/topic do ask your self following questions

"What", "How", and "Why" and see improvement

start preparing right from now,follow the standard books for the subject,
please tell your subject so that we could send you the name of the authors of good books in that subject,
also join some coaching institute as your college does not have 33% of the syllabus,
and follow the materials of institutes like brilliant tutorials,
and practice as many sample papers and previous years papers to have the complete knowledge of the test,
as for as the aptitude part is concerned practice it from the materials of the times it will be really helpful,also follow the books of r.s agrawal,
for mathematics b.s grewal is the best book to follow there is no other book you need to go after

Preparation for GATE is not a very tough job just what you need is to be little planned and updated. For GATE preparation the things to be done is :

1) First of all see the complete syllabus for GATE through your branch.
2) Now go through the GATE pattern of conducting exam like : there are 65 questions for 100 marks.
3) Now select the topics from the GATE syllabus you are more confident with and firstly try studying them deeply with proper time management.

One important thing i would like to mention here is that GATE syllabus contains courses mostly covered upto 5th semester.so no need to bother about 6th and 7th semester topics/courses.

4) After that consult to any good GATE coaching like: pathfinder they will tell you about more important topics . So based on that prepare them first and then touch the other things.
5) Try to study class notes properly. Do study some good books recommended for GATE.

It is good to see, that you want to start preparation for GATE from the very first year..
For that you have to first go through the syllabus of GATE...
Then follow the syllabus and start preparation for GATE.. Study throughly..
Try to make the base very strong.. Clear all the concept regarding your technical paper..
If you have any confusion on any topic then discuss with your teacher, get a clear concept...
Beside this you have to do lots of practice to solve the aptitude questions as quick as possible...
Because in GATE exam you have to solve aptitude questions..
When you will be in 3rd year then You have to solve previous year question papers of GATE to get an idea about the exam pattern, and by solving previous year questions you will also get confidence...
You can also take coaching classes for preparing yourself..
They will take mock tests to prepare you for the GATE..
