GATE Entrance Exam

Preparation for the most competitive exam will require a great deal of Hard work.
As the technical competitive examinations are concerned the GATE acquires the top place. To be the toughest of all.

PG level competitive examinations.

Preparing for this exam is a very tough job. and also it depends on your potential.

for example if your a poor student in scoring marks in your engineering subjects then a minimum of one year is required to prepare for this exam.

if you are an average student it takes 9 months to completely prepare for the syllabus.

if you are an above average student then it takes nearly 6 months to prepare for the GATE entrance exam

if you are an Excellent in Academic studies till now then it just take a month for you to prepare for the examination.

you have to now decide in which category will you fall into so that to set the time for this preparation.

whatever the time it may take by you to complete the syllabus.
you have to follow this procedure for sure.

->Skimming the syllabus.
->Preparing necessary plans to achieve the completion of the syllabus.
->starting the syllabus right from the basic to high end.
->Completing the syllabus as soon as possible
->Practicing the objective type questions.
->Keep self tests for the analysis of understanding levels and memorising level.
->Final attempting mock GATE exams.
->Increasing confidence by healthy group discussions.

This is how your preparation should be.

Hope you get a seat in IIT through GATE ,If you are smiling now.. You have to aim for it for sure. because doing M.Tech in Normal colleges is waste.

GATE stands for Graduate Test in Engineering which is conducted by six IITs and IIScs .Every year one IIT or IISc is selected as organizing Institute .

Plans for success in GATE exam -

1. Normally 3 to 4 months of serious study should be sufficient for preparation .
2. At first get the syllabus and study all topics of syllabus .
3. Revise as many times as possible .
4. Try to solve the previous year papers .
5. Try to give some practice tests.
6. Follow test books for every topic first then go for the question answer books .

I seem you that you are agood student So, for you minimum 6 to 8 months have need to completely prepare for the syllabus.

preparing for GATE exam is quite a tough job . In order to crack GATE u have to have a through knowledge of the subjects there are in your syllabus. In order to get a good rank
you should practice more of the maths part.

If u can join the GATE FORUM , then it will be very helpful for u . And if u are willing to study by yourself then it will be best to have a great depth of each and every subjects . Also for the preparation you can take the help of some books like :

2.GATE FORUM study material

If you are very serious for the GATE exam then u should not waste time and give as much effort as u can...

GATE-Graduate Aptitude test in engineering is a test for entry into postgraduate engineering programmes in IITs, NITs and many other colleges.

1.To write GATE you must be in the final or pre final year of your 4 year engineering/architecture undergraduation degree.

2.You could also have a masters in Science/maths/statistics.

3.You are eligible even if you are in the final or prefinal year of a dual degree.

DATES:

The notification was released in mid-september.
The last date to register online is tomorrow:17th October.

Last date to submit hard copy of filled form : 24th October.

GATE-2013

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted by the seven
IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and IISc (Indian Institute of Science),
Bengaluru.


It is an all India examination for admission to Master's program in
engineering, to the best engineering colleges and institutes in the country.




How to Prepare :


The GATE tests the basic knowledge that you possess in various fields.

So you should prepare thoroughly by understanding the basics and
fundamentals of the subject.


The questions are derivations and applications of these basics. Be
careful to note that mugging formulas does not help, as the questions
are not on jotting them down.

The first step is to understand the basics and know their applicability.



The second step is to practice. Solve previous year's papers, mock
question papers, and various test available. This will not only help
practicing what you have studied, but also give you an understanding of
the question paper format.


Solving previous years papers gives you an idea of what the actual
paper would be like. It also brushes up your basics and exposes your
areas of improvement

keep improving as you prepare for GATE


To clear the GATE, you need a few months of dedicated practice and
study. Knowing the basics of all years and your subject well is the key
to crack the GATE.

NEW CHANGES IN GATE-2013
1. 15 subject papers will be conducted by an ONLINE computer based test: AE, AG, AR, BT,
CE, CH, CY, GG, MA, MN, MT, PH, TF, XE, and XL.
2. Female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
3. All candidate related information and grievance redressal will be available in a single
GATE Online Applicant Interface.
4. Applicant photograph and signature must be uploaded during online application.
5. A new formula will be used for calculating the GATE score. Given below
6. Biometric information (Photograph and fingerprint) may be captured on the day of the
exam examination for randomly selected candidates.
7. Numerical answer type questions in ONLINE papers: In the ONLINE papers, the question paper
will consist of questions of multiple choice type and questions of numerical answer type. For
multiple choice type questions, each question will have four choices for the answer. For numerical
answer type questions, each question will have a number as the answer. Each online paper will
have 15 or more marks worth of questions requiring numerical answers where possible.


Good campus placements are available with attractive salary packages in
IISC or IIT’S if u get good score in GATE exam.

Some of the prestigious organizations like INDIAN OIL
CORPORATION & BARC, Mumbai call for interviews for scientist jobs,
based on GATE score/percentiles. Those who get good GATE scores, are
generally selected.

You will get scholarship of Rs.8000/- per MONTH if you are qualified in
GATE and studying M Tech in IISC or IIT’s.

And Also you will get an UGC scholarship of Rs.5000/- per MONTH if
you are qualified in GATE and studying M Tech in any college, based on
GATE score

Dear aspirant,
I am sorry to say you that now you are not eligible to write GATE.You can write GATE exam after completion your B.E.final year students of BTech are eligible to write GATE,but final year students of B.E are not eligible to write GATE.This is because B.E is course of duration only 3 years whereas BTech is a course of duration 4 year.GATE needs minimum 3 complete years graduation.
So you can start preparation for GATE now onwards and you can write it after you B.E.
