To prepare for IIT first of all you will need to plan out everything in detail.

Determination:

Its very important to stay determined throughout you 2 years of studies/preparations for IIT JEE. If you loose you focus in between then it can hurt you real hard.

Coaching :

Its not compulsory to join coaching for IIT JEE but looking at the present competition I think you should better join the coaching for IIT JEE preparation. As they will keep you updated about the latest portion and give you tons of practice. On top of that they will force you to study which is a big thing as self study requires lots of dedication.

Books;

There are some general refernce books which you can refer like

Physics: HC Verma, NCERT
Chemistry : NCERT, Arihant
Maths : Arihant or ML Khanna

After solving the above books you can go for solving past years papers

Rest it all depends on your hardwork

The syllabus of IIT JEE can be got from their official website. http://jee.iitd.ac.in/

IIT JEE preparation :

IIT JEE is the national level entrance exam conduct for all IITs of the
country. Every year a large number of aspirants appear in this exam
to test their fate. There are almost 9500 seats in all IITs across the
country and lakhs of student fight for these limited seat.

To secure a seat in one of the IITs of the country student should be
well prepared. IIT is considered to be the top engineering college of
the nation. They offer world class education to student which are
globally acclaimed. To crack this toughest exam here is the some
useful tips.

* Always starts preparing from the 'basics' because it is really
important to have a good base for a right foundation.

* Never prefer solution of the questions before giving good
attempts to the question.

* Don't leave the question in middle. Never jump one question
to another question in hurry. Lots of students practice question
without attempting it fully.

* Always try a question with conceptual approach. Don't just read
the question and start solving it without releasing the point that
what is being asked in the question.

* Divide your time well for your preparation for IIT JEE. The time
management is really important to do well in the exam.

Syllabus of IIT JEE :

If you have needed syllabus of IIT JEE then i attached the syllabus
of IIT JEE. Please see below attach file and download file.
