Entering into income tax department equalizes almost with civil services ..
You may find many books to go through ..Mainly books on Indian constitution and sections in the constitution helps you to improve a lot in a better way.. You can also start with your basic social subjects from your schooling ,so that it will make you to improve a lot more..
But ,whatever you do, try to do it with your own interest and keen respect towards our country ..Try to do it with a sincere effort.. Because getting over these exams is not an easy task..
