i am in 10th and i want to become a collector so how to do it?

To become a collector you have to clear the civil service examination conducted by UPSC. For this you need to pass the graduation. You have write the CSAT test first. This is an objective test paper. You should clear the mains after clearing CSAT exam. If you clear the mains you have to clear the interview conducted by UPSC. First you should concentrate on 12th and graduation. It will be god if you read news papers daily and become good in general knowledge area. This will help you in your preparations later.

Civil Services Examination is the most prestigious examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various All India Services including I.A.S., I.P.S., I.F.S.,I.R.S., and various Group A Services and Group B Services.

The ranking are generally first B.D.O.(Block Development Officer), then C.O.(Circle Officer), then S.D.O.(Sub-Division Officer), A.D.M. (Additional District Magistrate) then COLLECTOR, D.M.(District Magistrate).

These are all I.A.S. (Indian Administrative Services) ranking post.

If you want to become an Collector than you have to become an IAS officer and for that you have to give the Civil Services Exams conducted by UPSC


This exam is held for 24 posts and these are IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS etc

Educatiional qualifications required is:
Graduation pass in any stream
No minimum marks required in graduation

Age-
Minimum 21 years
Maximum -30 years for all the General category candidates
Maximum 33 years for the OBC candidates
Maximum 35 years for the SC/ST candidates

Attempts-
General candidates- 4
OBC candidates -7
SC/ST candidates- No such restrictions


UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages:
Prelims
MAINS
Interview

The eligibility criteria for appearing in IAS exam is Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
You have to complete your graduation first or in the final year also you can apply for the exam .
You can apply online for these examinations at www.upsconline.nic.in

For becoming the collector you have to prepare for the two exams conducted by civil services
1. Civil services preliminary exam
2. Civil services main exam (which has both written and interview) for selection of candidates for different regions
The syllabus you have to prepare are mentioned below as
Paper I : duration=2 hours,for 200 marks

• Current events of national and international.
• History of India and Indian National Movement.
• Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic.
• Geography of India and the World.
• Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political.
• System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
• Economic and Social Development-Sustainable.
• Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social.
• Sector Initiatives, etc.
• General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.
Paper 2: duration=2 hours, for 200 mark
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision making and problem solving
• General mental ability
• Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
Main exam consists 9 descriptive type paper
1-Any language
2-english
3-essay
4&5-general studies
6&7-optional subject-1
8&9-optional subject-2
There is also a pattern change in the Civil Services Mains examination introduced from 2013. Now there are four compulsory papers of General Studies, there is only one optional subject now instead of two, plus there is one compulsory essay paper. English and one language paper is of only qualifying nature.

The main thing you have to remember is It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the Papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination for the purpose of evaluation. In case if you don’t write any one of the exam you will be disqualified in it.

The final selection will be based on the marks available in the Main exam plus interview together .

Steps to become Collector after 10th standard:

You should appear Civil Services Examination(CSAT) which requires graduation.

If you qualified in this examination, then you will be called for Main examination and Interview.

Main examination each candidates has to select two optional subjects apart from which all candidates have to take a general studies, Essay and Compulsory language exam.

The marks of the Main examination and Interview to prepare a final merit list of selected candidates.
