Last date for this has been over now, you have to apply nxt year.
Regarding, it is all what you have studied till now in your btech specially of last four semester. Forms will be available in March, April next year. |

IES 2011 This exam is far away from you because already you have crossed the Important date of the exam i.e., 14th february 2011 this is the last date of the reception of the application form. The last date of submitting application is
07.02.2011 (MONDAY) Which is over..so better to apply next year. IES Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualifications : Degree in : • Electrical Engineering • Electronics & Communications Engineering • Civil Engineering • Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from recognized universities. • M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts. • Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible. so there is no percentage is required only pass out of final student are enough.. Age Limits : Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years |

Last date for submitting application form is way over in the month of february itself.
You can apply next year for IES examination. Following is the syllabus for Mechanical Engineering exam: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PAPER-I (For both objective and conventional type papers) 1. Thermodynamics, Cycles and IC Engines, Basic concepts, Open and Closed systems. Heat and work. Zeroth, First and Second Law, Application to non-Flow and Flow processes. Entropy, Availability, Irreversibility and Tds relations. Claperyron and real gas equations, Properties of ideal gases and vapours. Standard vapour, Gas power and Refrigeration cycles. Two stage compressor. C-I and S.I. Engines. Preignition, Detonation and Diesel-knock, Fuel injection and Carburation, Supercharging. Turbo-prop and Rocket engines, Engine Cooling, Emission & Control, Flue gas analysis, Measurement of Calorific values. Conventional and Nuclear fuels, Elements of Nuclear power production. 2. Heat Transfer and Refrigeration and Airconditioning. Modes of heat transfer. One dimensional steady and unsteady conduction. Composite slab and Equivalent Resistance. INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING : Production Planning and Control : Forecasting - Moving average, exponential smoothing, Operations, scheduling; assembly line balancing, Product development, Break-even analysis, Capacity planning, PERT and CPM. This year important dates were: Date of notification : 08/01/2011 Last date of submitting application: 07/02/2011 Date of commence of examination : 14/05/2011, Examination Pattern: - The Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in the month of may/june India wide. - There are objective as well as subjective papers. One paper for GS (General Science) is part of the assessment system apart from the engineering subject of the candidate. - The entire technical subject is divided into two papers (PAPER 1 and PAPER 2. There is a three day schedule of the written examination, comprising in all five written examination. - The first day is allocated for the General Studies (GS) paper. This exam is of 2 hrs duration. On the first day there is just one exam. - The second day is allocated for the Objective Papers. There are two objective exams for each paper separately and each being of 2 hrs in duration. - The third day is allocated for the Conventional (Subjective) Papers. There are two subjective exams for each paper separately and each being of 3 hrs in duration. - The subjective answer sheets of a candidate are evaluated only once he/she qualifies the objective examinations. - So if you are interested in IES then try next year and keep track on notification generally it get announce in the month of December or January.
