GATE Stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and this examination is conducted by IIS and Seven Indian Institute of Technology Once in a year . The examination will be held on eight zones and they are :-

-Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru
-Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
-Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
-Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
-Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
-Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
-Indian Institute of Technology Madras
-Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee

To apply for this examination , you should have a holding degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture of a recognized University or equivalent qualification and those who are appearing in the final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for this examination .

But pre-final year of degree course may not eligible to apply and there is no minimum marks required for this examination .

The GATE Score is valid upto 2 years and there is no specific attempts for this examination .

I completed my B.E in Electrical on 2013. is it possible to apply physics branch in 2014 gate????

If you have done B.E with Electricals then you can apply for Electrical Engineering only and not for Physics.

Hence prepare for Electrical Engineering only if you want to crack GATE.

Next GATE exams would be held in January 2014


Eligibilty to apply for the GATE exams is:
>> BE/BTECH/BARCH pass or Final year student

>> M.SC/MCA/MA with subjects/branch Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent

>> Integrated Master’s degree programs or Dual Degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Five year programme).This programme should have been done just after passing class 12th
