There are so many examinations conducted in India which comprise of preliminary exam and the main exam. Since you have not given any information about the examination, it is difficult to provide accurate answer but generally, the cut off marks of most of the examinations are not disclosed by the boards, organizing the exam.
Apart from this, the preliminary stage of such examinations are of qualifying nature and the marks obtained in it are not considered for the merit list.
