how to know the percentage of marks needed to join vit university .. and syllabus to be studied for entrance exam ?

first u have to be clear in which std u want to be go in vit.

A minimum of 60% marks (average in PCM or PCB ) is needed.
The syllabus is eqal to CBSE or ICSE 12th standard syllabus.

Age criteria for VIT 2011: To apply VITEEE 2011, candidates should be born after 1st July 1989.

Candidates who want to apply for VIT entrance exam 2011 should have studied in regular, full-time, formal stream in the school.

VIT admission in Medical or Engineering eligibility criteria for General/OBC candidates: A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB).

VIT eligibility criteria for SC/ST candidates: A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB)

VIT eligibility criteria for other candidates: Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.

VIT eligibility for Engineering admission: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes.

VIT eligibility for Medical admission: Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engg. & Biotechnology programmes

Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in March / April 2011 are also eligible to apply.

To become eligible for VIT entrance examination you must score atleast average 60% marks in physics, chemistry and maths.
Syllabus is same as AIEEE syllabus. Almost all the topics are same in these exams.
