Many of the candidates have a desire to become an IAS officer. It is not so easy to become an IAS officer because there is so much competition for this.

In order to become an IAS officer, one should have to go through the following selection procedure of
-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
-Civil Services Main Examination
-Interview.

One should have completed Graduation to be eligible for Civil services examination.

This civil services examination is the common written exam to be placed in various civil services like IPS, IRS etc and not only for IAS.

So, one has to score high in this exam to be placed in IAS.

Here is the required age limit for IAS Exam.

-One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam (for General category).
-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category.
-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 10 years for the candidates of Deaf, Blind, Mute and orthopedically handicapped candidates.
-Relaxation upto 5 years in upper age limit for Ex-serviceman.

If you meet this criteria, you can appear for civil services examination.

I.A.S exam exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream fron recognized university.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year


Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts

Minimum Eligibility for IAS exam:

Candidate should have complete graduation with any stream (commerce,arts,science)from a recognized university.

Age should be between
21 to 30 years for General category candidates
21to 33 year for OBC category candidates
21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates

Number of attempts:
4 attempts for General category candidates.
7 attempts for Obc category candidates
14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates.

IAS stand for Indian Administrative Service. UPSC conduct the civil service exam for Indian Administrative Service.

For this exam you must have graduate degree in any stream from recognised university.

Age should be minimum 21 and maximum 30 years for general categories.

Relaxation for obc is 3 year and for sc/st is 5 year.

In IAS exam only four attempts for general,for obc 7 attempts and no limit for sc/st.

Fee for general and obc candidate is Rs. 100 only. there are No fee for sc/st.

IAS means Indian Administrative Services and is basically meant for those aspiring candidates who have strong dedication towards the country.


India holds a UPSC examination every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS officers are recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria :-

A.)Educational Qualification:-


The minimum qualification required for appearing the competitive examination is Graduation. Many professionals like Engineers, Doctors, persons with Ph.d qualifications are competing for UPSC.


B.)Age Factor:-

1.> For general category :-

21-30 years and can attempt 4 times.

2.>For SC/ST :-

21-35 years ,and there is no limitation .

3.> For the OBC:-

21-33 years and can attempt 7 times.


Paper Pattern for IAS exam :-

1) General-Studies paper carries 150 marks

2) Optional paper carries 150 marks.

Instead of one compulsory paper of General Studies and one Optional paper, both the papers shall be compulsory.

IAS- INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to be an IAS officer one has to appear for the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment in the top level post in various Govt. Dept of India.

The selection is through three phases:-

CSAT- Civil Service Aptitude Test- Preliminary exam which comprises of all objective type questions

Civil Service Main Exam which comprises of all subjective type questions from prescribed syllabus for Civil Service exam.

Personal Interview

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having graduation degree from any stream.

One should be within the age group of 21 to 30 years of age for General Category candidate
Upper age relaxation up to 3 years for OBC category
Upper age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST category
Upper age relaxed up to 10 years for orthopedically handicapped category and up to 5 years for Ex- Serviceman.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be in citizen in India.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service.This exam is part of Civil Service exam.This exam is conducted by UPSC every year once to take qualified students into different government service posts.

Eligibility criteria for Civil Service exam:
Education qualification:
You should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
Age Limit:

For SC/ST/PD category minimum age is 21 years and Maximum age is 35 years.
For OBC category minimum age is 21 years and Maximum age is 33 years.
For General category minimum age is 21 years and Maximum age is 30 years.

Civil service exam consist of Preliminary exam and Main exam.
Once you clear the civil service exam with good rank,then you become a IAS officer.

If you fulfill with criteria,then you can appear for civil service exam this year.
Preliminary exam notification release on 4th Feb 2012 and closed on 5th March 2012.And exam will held on 20th May 2012.
After clearing Preliminary exam,then you can appear for Main exam.Main exam will held on 15th Oct 2012.

It is based on cast wise.
21 to 30 years for who belongs general catogory.

INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE

In order to become a IAS officer, you must have to clear the civil service examination, conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMSSION .
Through this examination, one can apply for the Indian administrative & police services.
This civil services examination has three stages to be clear,

Maximum age limits for various categories are enlisted below:
For General category: A general category candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2013.
The upper age limit is relax-able for other tribes except general categories which are as follows:
For scheduled tribe or scheduled caste: relaxation of 5 years.

The Basic Age limit for IAS

21 years to 30 years

But, age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per norms, i mentioned below

for SC/ST candidates 5 years relaxation

that means the age limit for SC/ST Candidates is 21 to 35 Years

for OBC Candidates 3 Years relaxation

that means the age limit for OBC Candidates is 21 to 33 years

IAS Exam Age Limit :

IAS exam required educational qualifications are you must completed the GRADUATION from recognized university and final years are also eligible but they should be submit the all required certificates at the time of main examination.

For general category candidate minimum age limit should be 21 years and maximum 30 years.

Upper Age Limit :
  • 5 years for SC/ST category candidates,
  • 3 years for OBC category candidates
  • 5 years for ordinarily been domiciled in the state of jammu & kashmir.
  • 3 Years for defence services personnel disabled.
  • 5 years for ex-servicemen,

If you are general category candidates and then you can attempt this exam only 4times or OBC category candidates 7 times or NO limit for SC/ST category candidates.

I have triple Masters degrees in professional streams and having 9 years of educational administration and research experience and laying on the border line of maximum age limit. There are 3 more attempts (age wise) left for me. Im a good learner and learn the things very fast, shall I attempt to prepre for the ICS exams at this stage of age and career. Is there any policy of upsc to give any preference to such candidates in interview for the IAS. Please submit your suggestions to reach on a calculated decision.

Hello

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services

1. The minimum age limit for IAS is 21 years of age.
2. The maximum age limit is 32 years of age.

Although age relaxation is provided based on the caste and other reasons
1. The age relaxation for general caste is not there.
2. The age relaxation for OBC is 3 years.
3. The age relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years.
4. The age relaxation for physically disabled persons is 10 years for general candidates, for OBC is 13 years and SC/ST is 15 years.
