Many of the candidates have a desire to become an IAS officer. It is not so easy to become an IAS officer because there is so much competition for this.
In order to become an IAS officer, one should have to go through the following selection procedure of -CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) -Civil Services Main Examination -Interview. One should have completed Graduation to be eligible for Civil services examination. This civil services examination is the common written exam to be placed in various civil services like IPS, IRS etc and not only for IAS. So, one has to score high in this exam to be placed in IAS. Here is the required age limit for IAS Exam. -One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam (for General category). -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category. -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 10 years for the candidates of Deaf, Blind, Mute and orthopedically handicapped candidates. -Relaxation upto 5 years in upper age limit for Ex-serviceman. INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
Minimum Eligibility for IAS exam: Candidate should have complete graduation with any stream (commerce,arts,science)from a recognized university. Age should be between 21 to 30 years for General category candidates 21to 33 year for OBC category candidates 21 to 35 years for SC/ST category candidates Number of attempts: 4 attempts for General category candidates. 7 attempts for Obc category candidates 14 attempts for SC/ST category candidates. |

IAS stand for Indian Administrative Service. UPSC conduct the civil service exam for Indian Administrative Service.
For this exam you must have graduate degree in any stream from recognised university. Age should be minimum 21 and maximum 30 years for general categories. Relaxation for obc is 3 year and for sc/st is 5 year. In IAS exam only four attempts for general,for obc 7 attempts and no limit for sc/st. Fee for general and obc candidate is Rs. 100 only. there are No fee for sc/st. |

IAS- INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to be an IAS officer one has to appear for the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment in the top level post in various Govt. Dept of India.
The selection is through three phases:- CSAT- Civil Service Aptitude Test- Preliminary exam which comprises of all objective type questions Civil Service Main Exam which comprises of all subjective type questions from prescribed syllabus for Civil Service exam. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service.This exam is part of Civil Service exam.This exam is conducted by UPSC every year once to take qualified students into different government service posts.
Eligibility criteria for Civil Service exam: Education qualification: You should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university. Age Limit: For SC/ST/PD category minimum age is 21 years and Maximum age is 35 years. For OBC category minimum age is 21 years and Maximum age is 33 years. For General category minimum age is 21 years and Maximum age is 30 years. Civil service exam consist of Preliminary exam and Main exam. Once you clear the civil service exam with good rank,then you become a IAS officer. If you fulfill with criteria,then you can appear for civil service exam this year. Through this examination, one can apply for the Indian administrative & police services. This civil services examination has three stages to be clear, 1. CSAT (CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST) 2. Csat Exam pattern- There are 25 optional subjects in CSAT exam- Optional subjects in MAINS- The age limit for this examination is a 21-30 years,.there are 3 &5 years of the age relaxation are applicable for the OBC & SC\ST candidates.. I have triple Masters degrees in professional streams and having 9 years of educational administration and research experience and laying on the border line of maximum age limit. There are 3 more attempts (age wise) left for me. Im a good learner and learn the things very fast, shall I attempt to prepre for the ICS exams at this stage of age and career. Is there any policy of upsc to give any preference to such candidates in interview for the IAS. Please submit your suggestions to reach on a calculated decision.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services 1. The minimum age limit for IAS is 21 years of age. 2. The maximum age limit is 32 years of age. Although age relaxation is provided based on the caste and other reasons 1. The age relaxation for general caste is not there. 2. The age relaxation for OBC is 3 years. 3. The age relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years. 4. The age relaxation for physically disabled persons is 10 years for general candidates, for OBC is 13 years and SC/ST is 15 years. all the best |
