Information Regarding IAS Examination.

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination is conducted by the UPSC in every year for the selection of the talented candidates as the post of IAS officer. IAS officer job is consider as the one of the most famous job of India. IAS examination is also known as the civil services examination.To appear in the IAS exam you need the following eligibility.

Educational Qualification = Graduation in any stream from a recognize University. The final year graduation student are also eligible to apply for IAS examination.

Age Limit = The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category students.

Age Relaxation for the Reservation Category Candidates.

->For SC/ST candidates :- 5 years on upper age.
->For OBC candidates :- 3 years on upper age.
->For PD candidates :- 10 years on upper age.
->For Ex-service man :- 5 years on upper age.

IAS - Indian Administrative Services.


Its the most reputated and one of the toughest entrance examinations in India. It basically recruits candidates for the various Administrative services in India.

So one has to work really hard to clear this exam.


Now the Basic Eligibility Criteria's to sit for the IAS entrance exam are :-


1. You should be an Indian National

2. You should be a minimum graduate in any stream from any background. So stream is no criteria.

3. Your age should be within 21-30 years if you are from GEN, 21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for the SC/ST.

4. GEN candidates are given 4 attempts, OBC's 7 and the SC/ST's are given Unlimited number of attempts.

5. You should be physically and mentally a fit person.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CIVIL SERVICE EXAM:-

(i) Age limits :

21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).



(ii) Educational Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice).

IAS stand for Indian Administrative Service.

Maximum age is 30 year for general in IAS.

UPSC conducts civil service exam for IAS.

for this exam you must have graduate degree in any stream from recognised university.

Age should be minimum 21 and maximum 30 years for general categories.

Relaxation for obc is 3 year and for sc/st is 5 year.

For obc candidate age is 21 to 33 year.

For sc/st candidate age is 21 to 35 year.

Attempts for general is 4.

There is a civil service examination, through which , you can apply for the INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE (IAS), INDIAN POLICE SERVICE (IPS), INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICE (IFS) ,INDIAN REVENUE SERVICE (IRS) etc etc..

This civil service examination is conducted by the union public service commission (UPSC). Helo, for CSE exam AGE LIMIT is from 21 to 30 yrs. But age relaxations are also there-

# SC/ST candidates :- 5 yrs
# OBC candidates :- 3 yrs
