What are the exact parameters that they check for eyesight at army?
i have cleared the preliminary interview for army. I will go for the SSB, but on what grounds can i get rejected in medical?
I wear specs & i'd like to know the exact specifications for clearing the eye checkup in army medical round.

i think the power for each eye should be less than 3.5 in army. or somewhat near about it

Well friend,
if your eyesight becomes 6/6 after wearing the glasses you will not be rejected in the medical, precisely speaking your eyesight should not be worse than 6/18.

I have clear SSB and recommended for medical. I opted for Pilot Entry. PABT also clear. In medical checkup my eyes as they mentioned in the case history SUBSTANDARD VISION AND MYOPIA IS MORE THAN PERMISSIBLE LIMIT. Now they unfit me for Airforce and Navy they will consider me for Army merit list.

Hello Abhi,

Sorry to hear that, but if you are fit for Army as per the Army medical standards then they will definitely consider you for the same.

As far as eyesight is concerned the the power of you glasses that is acceptable for indian army is -2.5D with colour or night blindness

Friend,

You will not be able to join indian navy as the minimum requirement is of -0.75D.

However you are fit for indian army as for this you need minimum -2.5D

Hello Friend,

As per the medical standards for NDA you are not fit for Indian navy and air force. But you are very much fit for Indian army. Here is the details for eyesight.......

For Indian Air Force- -0.75D without myopia
For Indian Navy- -0.75D
For Indian Army- -2.5D

I do not think it is big issue as long as it does not develop into a physical problem. I think you should control it as long as you can as it can lead to the same.

You will be permanently rejected from armed forces. They will come to know when they test your eyes.

when i stand straight my ankle and knees both touches there repective pair, so is it a knock knee
or will it be any reason for rejection in air force ???

Medical Examination.


(a) You should be physically fit and free from ailment or any health problem which may

hamper your performance in the physical test/interview.

(b) In case you qualify in the Stage-II testing, you shall be required to undergo a Special Medical Board (SMB) over the next four to six days. In exceptional and unavoidable circumstances, it may take up to eight days.

(c) In your own interest you are advised to undergo a preliminary medical check-up for wax

in ears, refractory error of eyes, fungal infections of skin, eosinophilia, knock knee and flat foot or any other disease before reporting for SSB interview.

Note :-

In case you are found unfit in the SMB, you are eligible for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) within 42 days from the date of approval of the SMB. In case you are found unfit even in the AMB, a final appeal i.e. Review Medical Board (RMB) application has to be submitted within 24 hours of approval of the AMB. Grant of RMB is at the discretion of the Medical Authorities. For AMB candidates are required to prepare a MRO of Rs 40/-. The original MRO receipt is required to be retained by the candidates to be submitted at the time of medical board at the requested Command Hospital. The duplicate copy of MRO along with copy of request for AMB is to be forwarded to Rtg Dte within 7 days.

13. Candidates will adhere to laid down timings strictly.

14. Candidate will not visit testing areas after testing hours.

15. The conduct of the candidates both in the Selection Centre as well as when visiting outside areas should be correct and gentleman like.

16. Any contravention of above orders or any act of indiscipline will invite immediate cancellation of candidature on disciplinary grounds.

17. Cases of serious breach of discipline and conduct will be handed over to civil police and FIR registered accordingly.

18. Candidates are not permitted to use mobile phones during the conduct of tests.

In SSB there is many round for qualify these states

here i mention all the rounds

1)Screening test

2)Psychological test

3)GTO test(Group testing officer test)

4)Interview

After complete all these test then final result comes out
then selected candidate goes for Medical test

like:-

Day1 : Form -fillup formalities & X-RAY.
Day2: Blood,URINE, Ultrasonic.
Day3:Medical tests.
Day4: EYE test.
Day5:Independence Day so nothing : )
Day6: Surgical test

{ Day6 : There are many rumours about this Surgical test, nothing to worry You can easily clear the same. }

So be prepare for all these things then easily clear all these rounds.......
