The examination conducted for recruitment of IPS officer is called Civil Service Examination and is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
The age limit to apply for the exam are as follows:

• Minimum age- 21 years
• Maximum age for general category- 30 years
• Maximum age for OBC category- 33 years
• Maximum age for Sc/St category- 35 years

The minimum academic qualification required is a bachelor degree of a recognized university, in any discipline.

Dear aspirant,
IPS is service post which is organised by UPSC every, it is under Civil Service. The minimum age limit is 21 and maximum age limit is 30 for general, 33 for OBC and 35 for SC/STs and more age relaxation to various groups such as Ex-serviceman,widow etc.
The minimum educational qualification is Graduation with any subject from india university.
For IPS-
Height ¨C Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) ¨C 160 cm
Chest ¨C Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Eye sight ¨C 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.
Blood pressure (High) ¨C Age 23 ¨C 123, age 24 ¨C 124, age 25 ¨C122, age 28 ¨C 124, age 30¨C125, age 32 ¨C 126, age 34 ¨C 127.
Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

for giving the entrance exam of IPS,the candidate must have the graduation degree from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks.
Age limit => 21-30 years. Age relaxation for the OBC canidates is 3 years and for SC candidates is 5 years.
This exam contains a written test,interview and medical checkup etc.
