If you have completed 12th examinations from a recognized board with physics ,chemistry and mathematics then you are applicable for IIT-JEE exam.But your 12th marks must be above 60% .

So if your 12th board exam marks is above 60% then you can apply for IIT-JEE exam.

The age limit for this exam is 17 to 25 year old.

IIT JEE - INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION conducted by IIT for admission to B.Tech under Graduate course in Engineering in various IITs all over India.

The minimum educational qualification to apply IIT JEE is 12th standard from a recognised Board with at least 60% marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. You must be an Indian Citizen within the age group of 17 to 25 years.

If you are interested you can apply for this next year with at least serious preparation before sitting for IIT JEE as this exam is very tough and competitive one.

iit-jee- eligibility criteria:
1. must have passed 12th with more than 60%.
2. there is fixed number of attempts and that is 2 for each and ever category first in the 12th appearing and second is just after 12th.
3. age must be in between 17 to 24.
from the next year onwards it will also give weightage to your 10th and 12th marks, so if your academic results are good then it will also help to get admission into iits.

To appear in IIT EE examination, the candidate should have completed their 10 2 in Higher Secondary Level in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and the candidate should have a minimum 60% aggregte marks. In which 5% marks relaxable for SC/ST/PH Candidates.
A candidate can attempt IIT JEE only twice in Consecutive Years and those who are appearing 12th Exams may also apply.

Only those general and OBC candidates who have secured 60% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible for IIT JEE . A relaxation of 5% (that is 55%) if given to the students belonging to the category of schedule caste, schedule tribe and physically disabled.

other eligibility conditions are -

AGE Limit- The age of the candidate must be within 17 to 25 years however a relaxation of 5 years is given in the upper limit for Sc/ST/PD candidates

Number of Attempts- A candidate can appear for only 2 consecutive years in the Jee exam it doesn't matter if the candidate has passed the qualifying exam or not.

Also if the candidate has paid the registration fees and taken admission earlier then he is not eligible it doesn't matter if he had discontinued the programme

To be eligible for IIT-JEE, you must score 60% marks or above in board examination.
Now, as you have heard from next year, ISEET 2013 is going to be implemented and going to replace IIT-JEE and AIEEE as well.
Eligibility Criteria has been reduced to 50% in case of ISEET 2013.
However, final decision has not came yet.

The eligiblity criteria for appearing for IIT-JEE are:
#One must pass 12th exam with an aggregate of 60% from any recognised board/university
#One must be a citizen of India
#One must be between the age of 17-25 years, and 5 year relaxation for SC/STs.
#One can appear only 2 times after 12th exam including the year of passing 12th.
