I have completed my M.Sc. mathematics. Is it necessary to clear GATE or CSIR net for phd or there are some other alternatives available?

To pursue a PH.d you need to clear Masters. Since you have completed the same you are eligible. The CSIR NET exam is basically for those who would like to go into the research field. GATE exam is basically those who are interested in going for Masters course. It is not necessary to appear for these exams. You need to check out in the university from which you are planning to pursue the same.

i have finished m.pharmacy(pharmaceutical analysis). how to start my ph.d? is there any exams?

Obviously it is required to clear NET or GATE.If you wish to get your PhD from a good guide,otherwise without these you can also get Phd but it will took more than 7/8 years.
