Common Admission Test (CAT) is the national level entrance exam for admission in Master of Business Administration. Similarly to any other course like Bachelor of Technology, MBBS etc, it is important to appear for entrance exam to get admission for Master of Business Administration.

If you want admission for MBA then CAT is not the only option. There are other options as well but it is essential that you appear for some entrance exam. English Honors or any other degree will not give you exemption from appearing for the entrance exam.

Some of the other entrance exam options are:

MAT

XAT

GMAT

NMAT

IRMA

IBSAT

IIFT

However Common Admission Test (CAT) is the most popular entrance exam for MBA admission. The Indian Institute of Management which is the best b school in the country, offer admission through Common Admission Test.

CAT Eligibility

1. You should have graduation degree.

2. Minimum of 50 percent marks.

3. SC/ST need 45 percent marks.

If you are not meeting the percentage for Common Admission Test then you can appear for XAT or the MAT entrance exam. Both exams require candidate to have graduation degree. There is no criteria for percentage.

Your question is not fully clear but i am assuming you are asking for other options of pursuing MBA. If that is the question then yes other than CAT you can give tons of other MBA entrance examinations to pursue this course. But people talks more about CAT because it is the most popular MBA entrance examination which is conducted by one of the premier institution in India: the IIMs.

It's a national test which allows students to take admission not only in the IIM's but in other top autonomous B-Schools as well. The full form of CAT is Common Admission Test and you can give this exam only once a year.

To sit for CAT you need to secure minimum 50% of marks at graduation level. SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks. There is no age criteria as such and you can give this examination as many times you want.

If you don't satisfy the percentage mentioned above then you can sit for MAT exam whose full form is Management Aptitude Test. This exam is conducted by the AIMA and after CAT, it is the second most popular entrance exam for MBA.

Here the percentage you acquire at graduation level is of little importance so if you have the pass marks then you are eligible to give this exam. There is one added advantage too. You can give this exam for four times a year: February, May, September and December.

Other popular test you can sit for are as follows: SNAP, XAT, JMET, MH-CET and CMAT.

Some popular B-School Institutions also conducts their own examinations too. They are as follows:-
  • IBSAT conducted by ICFAI Business Schools
  • IRMA conducted by Institute of Rural Management, Anand
  • NMAT conducted by NarseeMonjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai
  • MICA conducted by Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad
  • IIFT conducted by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi and Kolkata

Hope this helps :-> :->

Hai friend....

Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test held in india and also this exam is popular exam all over the India.
This test scores a person on the bases of Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test for selecting students for their business administration programs.[1] The test is conducted every year by one of the IIM's based on a policy of rotation. In August 2011, it was announced that Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) would also use the CAT scores, instead of the Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET), to select students for their management programmes from 2012-14 year.

CAT exam require 50% marks in graduation from recognized university from any discipline .For SC/ST candidate marks required is 45% .

You have some wrong information about CAT exam because any graduate can apply here .So it is not necessary to completed graduation degree in English subject.

Final year of graduation degree are applicable for CAT Exam .

So if you have scored good in CAT exam then definitely you will get top most college .Because maximum best college select the candidate through CAT Score .

But the CAT question papers are in English language .There is no option for other language .

Wish you good luck.

FORMAT OF CAT

Q.1) I hear that CAT will be held online. Is that correct?

Ans. CAT is a computer-based test (CBT) and not an Internet-based test (IBT) i.e. a candidate does not take the test on an Internet site. Instead of reading the questions in a paper booklet and darkening the ovals on the answer-sheet, a candidate will read the questions on a computer terminal and choose an answer by clicking on the correct option.

Q.2) How is the computer-based format different from the paper-based format?

Ans. The format of the test is more or less the same except that a candidate reads a question on a computer terminal and clicks on the correct answer, instead of reading on a paper booklet and using a pencil to darken the ovals on an answer sheet.

Q.3) Can I take the test from any computer?

Ans. No. A candidate will have to test on a pre-assigned workstation and will not have a choice to choose his or her workstation, in the testing venue chosen by him/her during the time of registration.

Q.4) What does a CBT test looks like?

Ans. A CAT practice test is available on the website www.catiim.in for candidates to get familiarised with the functionality and navigation of the actual test.
