Possibility to sit in NET exam after BCA for a Sri Lankan refugee? Eligibility criteria for it?


Hello sir, I am a Sri Lankan refugee and have completed under graduate course (BCA) from Thiruvalluvar university. Is it possible for me to attend NET exam? Eligibility criteria for it?

Yes you can give net exam if you have a Indian citizenship.

Eligibility criteria
>> In master degree candidate must have secured minimum 55% marks.
>> Candidate who are in last semester can also apply for this exam, such candidate will be kept in provision mode unless he secure 55% in total.
>> Application to NET exam must be only through online mode, no other mode of acceptance of form is allowed.

Age limit
> For Junior Researcher candidate must not be more than 28 years as of 1 July of the participating year.Relaxation of 5 years is given to SC/ST candidates.

> For Assistant professor there is no upper limit specified.

No, you are not eligible for UGC NET exam because you have completed BCA degree.

The educational qualification required for UGC NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for UGC NET exam. There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.
