Eligibility criteria to become an IPS Officer?
what is the eligibility criteria for becoming the ips officer? I am pursuing BCA-3rd year, will it be possible for me, that I can sit in the entrance exam of ips??

Civil Service Examination is conducted for recruitment of Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Revenue Services, Indian Railway Traffic Services..etc. Minimum Academic Qualification is required to apply for this examination is that candidate need to complete graduate degree from any recognized University or equivalent qualification. Those who are appeared or appearing in the final year of degree course may also eligible to apply. The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years. Eliglibity criteria to apply for the IPS exam :-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. The candidate shouldhave completed Graduation from a Recognised university. 2. Age of the candidate shouldbe in between 21-30 years only , if the candidate is belongs to General category 3. Age of the candidate shouldbe in between 21-33 years only , if the candidate is belongs to OBC category 4. Age of the candidate shouldbe in between 21-35 years only , if the candidate is belongs to SC or ST Category 5. The candidate shouldbe a citizen of India Restriction in number of attempts for different category candidates:- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For General category candidates , Maximum number of attempts is 4 For OBC Category candidates , Maximum number of attempts is 7 For SC , ST Category candidates , there is no limit in number of attempts |

For OBC Category candidates , Maximum number of attempts is 7 & For SC , ST Category candidates , there is no limit in number of attempts ???? |

Yes, final year graduate candidates are also eligible to apply IPS Officer examination.*
IPS stands for Indian Police Service. To become IPS Officer you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination. This examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year. Eligibility criteria:- Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Candidate should be completed Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University. Final year graduate candidates are also apply for this examination.* Candidate age should be between 21 years to 30 years for General category. Age relaxation for OBC category candidates 3 years And SC/ST category candidates 5 years. Number of Attempts:- General category candidates - 4 time OBC category Candidates - 7 time SC/ST category candidates - No limit. Physical requirement :- Height: – Male 165 cm Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest :– Male Minimum 84 cm. For becoming an IPS officer, you need to be a graduate in any of the stream from a recognized Indian university and your age should be in between 21-32 years.
If you belong to the obc category, then the age limit is 21-35 years. If you belong to the sc/st category or the physical handicapped category, then the age limit is 21-37 years. Also, the number of attempts for the general candidate is 6, the number of attempts for the obc category is 9 and there is no limit for the number of attempts for the sc/st category and the physically handicapped people. |
