Hello sir, I have completed B.Com with Computer Application and have four years working experience in Accounts. Please tell me how I can become a Income Tax or Sales Tax Officer?

For recruitment as an Officer ( I.R.S ) in Income tax candidates have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

The examination is conducted by UPSC every year. The eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline and age limit is between 21-32 years with relaxation in age for reserved category.

So, you are eligible to appear for examination. But candidates have to qualify in Preliminary, Mains and Interview stage of examination for the final selection. For more information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

Yes, you are eligible for Income Tax Officer exam because you have completed B.Com degree.

To become an income tax officer, you should qualify in SSC CGL exam. If you once successfully complete SSC CGL Tier I and II exam then you are eligible for Income Tax Officer post.

Minimum qualification required to apply for this examination is completing a degree course from a recognized Institution.

Your age should be in between 21 to 27 years.
