After B.com, If you are Interested to become a IAS Officer, then you have to appear for UPSC Civil services examination. And to appear for UPSC Civil services examination, You need to purse a graduate degree course.

So, If you have already complete your Graduation form a recognized colleges and University, then you are eligible for Civil services examination, to become a IAS Officer.

But To appear for Civil services examination, your age should between 21 To 30 Years. So, If you have fulfill the eligibility criteria, then you can apply for this examination online by visit the UPSC website. The Notification was published in the employment Newspaper OR in the official website of UPSC.

The general candidates can apply for this examination only 4 times. But OBC candidates will get 7 attempts and there is no limits for SC, ST Candidates.

Upper age relaxation is also applicable for SC, ST and OBC candidates.

You have to appear for two examination, If you are interested to become a IAS Officer, Firstly Preliminary examination and then Main examination. You have to clear both these examination. So, If you have missed The chance in this year, then please apply for this examination Next year, The Notification was published in the month of February. The syllabus of Preliminary examination was also changed, there are 2 papers of same marks and duration and all the question in preliminary examination are based on Objective type. Yes, after completing B.Com you are eligible to apply for the IAS examination. IAS examination is also known as the civil services examination which is conducted by UPSC in every year.

Here i give you the eligibility criteria for IAS examination :

Educational qualification = Graduation in any stream from a recognize university. The final year graduation student are also eligible to apply for the IAS exam.

Sure you can apply for the IAS after doing graduation in B.COM !!


Basically IAS is Indian Administrative Services and it is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) in order to select candidates for the various posts which have vacancies.

This is one of the toughest examinations in India, and its because the no. of applicants are much more than the number of seats available.


The basic eligibility criteria for appearing in the IAS is :

To become an IAS officer, it is not necessary to belong to Arts stream. Even a commerce and science student can also appear for this exam. The person applying for IAS should be a graduate from a recognised institution. And there is no minimum marks required to score in graduation.
