Dear Sir,
I want to know that at the age of 31 years, which govt. job is available for general catagory?

dear friend,
though there are age restrictions in various employment categories, you can still get into a government job through UPSC exams and the various public service exams organised by the various states.
but to get into the government job through public service commission exams, you need to work extremely hard and score really high as competition from the younger generation would be very high.
and many other government related companies and organisations have regular announcements of their recruitment details. pay attention to them.

I am looking forward to appear in IPS EXAM. I'm in my final year of graduation ,but the problem is i am 5'5 in height ,so
can i appear in exams.

Age limits are varies according to the eligibility criteria.So If you mentioned about your qualification then it will be easy to find your entry point.

Yes obviously you can appear for Indian Civil Service,conducted by UPSC.Height is not a factor.But before appearing you must be a graduate in any stream and age must be 21 to 30 years.

you can do quite a lot with an english literature degree.
A llot of students who take English Literature as a degree are often people who want to be writers themselves but that does't mean that it stops you from getting into other careers.
you mentioned that you take medicine to be a doctor but that's quite a specific fild where english lit ends to be a litttle more broader with what you can get into.
you could be a journalist , teacher, lecturer, publisher, reporter, researcher and careers within the media and it.
i'm sure there's many careers you can get into but there just a few to name
