Re: Procedure to appear for NETSET Exam?
Dear friend,
If you intend to teach English in colleges at UG level, NET / SET is compulsory and you may also have to complete MA. If you intend to teach to MBA students then industry experience is more important and there is no compulsion to clear NET / SET. If you intend to teach in school, you must have B Ed degree. For Prof. and Associate Prof., Ph.D is mandatory, whereas, Asst.Prof. Requires MBA with 2 years’ experience -Education or Industry. B.Ed. is not required for Higher Education. No NET/SET is required as per AICTE Guidelines. Please refer AICTE Website. Eligibility For NET Examination: -
The Examination Application Fees Consist:-.
Application Procedure for NET Examination:- UGC-NET exams are conducted in June and Dec. Please refer Employment News Paper and UGC Website in March and Sep. Re: Procedure to appear for NETSET Exam?
The procedure is very simple. Firstly you should complete a post graduation course. Make sure you are meeting all the criteria to appear for the exam. After that you simply have to apply for the NET exam online through the official website of UGC.
University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts the entrance exam for lectureship known as National Eligibility Test. It is conducted for central government colleges. On the other hand, each state conducts its own entrance exam which is known as State Eligibility Test (SET). Firstly you should wait for the official announcement by the state or University Grants Commission. Following which the admission procedure is mentioned on the official website. In case of NET, you will have to visit the official website of University Grants Commission to apply for the exam. The NET entrance exam is conducted bi-yearly. Which means two times a year. Firstly in June and second time in December. While SET basically depends on the state. Most of the states conducts it once a year while there are some states like Maharashtra where SET is conducted twice a year. Eligibility 1. Only Indian citizens can apply. 2. A master degree in any discipline. 3. At least 55 percent marks in master degree. 4. SC/ST should score 50 percent marks. 5. Final year students are also allowed to appear. 6. But they will need to submit master degree in 2 years of clearing NET. 7. Your NET subject should be related to PG. 8. The age limit is 28 years for JRF. 9. Age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC. 10. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation. 11. There is no upper age restriction for lectureship. 12. There is no limit on number of attempts. |

Re: Procedure to appear for NETSET Exam?
The high hopes with which a majority of candidates appeared for the UGC’s National Eligibility Test in June after a change in the question paper pattern have come crashing after the publication of results earlier this week.
For the first time, NET was conducted in objective mode for all three papers in two sessions. Till then, the third paper in descriptive format was not favoured by many. However, the relief over replacement of the descriptive format with multiple-choice questions has turned out to be short-lived. The adoption of new qualifying criteria by the UGC has denied thousands of candidates an opportunity for lectureship in universities and colleges. The candidates blame the UGC for coming out with a last minute specification that an aggregate of 65 per cent in three papers was necessary for qualification for general category candidates. The qualifying minimum was fixed at 60 and 55 per cent for OBC and SC/ST/visually challenged/physically challenged categories. While the NET notification stated that the scores of only those candidates who score the minimum specified marks would be considered for the preparation of result, the UGC’s new criteria for qualification required candidates in general, OBC, and SC/ST/VC/PC categories to post minimum scores (out of 350 — 100 marks each for first and second paper, and 150 marks for third paper) of 227.5, 210, and 192.5 respectively. |

Re: Procedure to appear for NETSET Exam?
Post Graduate Diploma is not the required qualification for NET/SET .
You must have a Post Graduate Degree then only you can apply for NET/SET examination. Also one must score 55% marks in the Post Graduation then only one can apply for NET/SET. There is relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PWD category candidates. Hence if you want to apply for NET then you have to complete Post Graduation Degree program with the required percentage of marks. There is no age limit for lecturerships but there is age limit for JRF which is below 28 years of age. Exam Pattern: For more information visit http://www.ugcnetonline.in |
