what is the procedure for becoming a food inspector??

Candidates can apply for the posts of Food Inspector in the Food and Medical Administration Department. Selected candidates will have to perform the regular work of a food inspector i.e. inspection of the quality of the food items.

Eligibility:

Candidates should be in between 21 to 35 years of age as on 01 July 2010. There is relaxation for the reserved category candidates in age limit as per government rules.

Educational Qualification:

Minimum educational qualification criteria should be fullfilled by the interested candidates in order to apply for the posts of Food Inspector in the department of Food and Medical Administration.

No. of posts: 430 posts (Gen-212, SC-89, ST- 14, OBC-115),

Pay Scale: The prescribed salary for the specified post is Rs.9300 - 34800 + Grade Pay of Rs.4200

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will have to clear the Food Inspectors Recruitment Examination - 2010 in order to get selected for the posts of Food Inspector in the Food and Medical Administration Department.

How to apply: Application completed in all respects should be submitted (registered post or by hand) to Secretary, (Deptt No.A-2/E-1/2010) Public Service Commission, UP, 10, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Allahabad-211018.

it is a good and healthy career you have choosen.
to become a food inspector-
1. you need to be undergraduate with food safety or other related streams like agriculture,biology and chemistry from a recognised university.
2.

Following is the eligibility criteria to become a food inspector:

1. Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in food safety or related fields from a recognised university.

Other qualified specializations are like chemistry, agriculture and biology.

2. Age: 18-30 years.

The exam of food inspector is conducted by upsc, for further details you can visit upsc website i.e www.upsc.gov.in.

Once you pass the course from a reputed institute, you can work in public and private sector.

to be a food inspector you need to be a graduate in either of the subjects; chemistry/biology/food safety / agriculture
the minimum age of a candidate must be 21 years to apply for it.
the exam is conducted by several boards like upsc , All India Food Inspector Entrance Exam, and Punjab Food Supplies Department Entrance Exam.

Food Inspector Recruitment Exam is conducted by many public service commissions of different states like Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), Chattishgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC). You should check the website of your state public service commission for any notification or advertisements. Advertisements are also given in leading newspapers when there is vacancies.
To know how to become a food inspector you should know the eligibility criteria to write this exams.
Eligibility Criteria :
Eligible candidates are
1. Graduates in medicine who have gone through training in food inspection,
2. Graduate in any science subject but with chemistry,
3. Graduates in agricultue/pharmacy/food technology/dairy technology.
So, first make sure you satisfy the above criteria or if you have now completed 10+2, choose any of the above discipline in graduation.

for this you need to hold the bachealor degree of food safety or other related subject like agriculture ,biology and chemistry
age should be 18-30
and you can also take certification notification from a local bureau of food and meat resources and for becoming the certified officer.
and after taking experience you can easily apply for company you produces the food goods

Take certification classes offered by your local bureau of food and meat inspection. Becoming certified in the area of food inspection looks great on your resume and helps you qualify for better-paying food inspector jobs.


Enroll in the USDA Inspection Training Program. Complete the necessary application, which you can download from the United Fresh Produce Association website. The program is available at both the introductory and senior levels.


List at least one year's experience in the food industry on your resume, particularly in an industry that processes and handles food. This is necessary if you haven't obtained at least a bachelor's degree in the fields listed in the first step.



Apply to companies and agencies seeking food inspectors. Both state and federal agencies employ food inspectors. Private food companies have jobs as well. Choose the path you feel is right for you

Eligibility for Food Inspector exam are as follows: -

1. Pass graduation in any subject / stream from a regonised institute / university.

2. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years
for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

3. Nationality - Indian

NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply for Food Inspector exam.

to become Food Inspector you need to pass All India Food Inspector exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

You should be graduate in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects.

To be eligible for the exam you should have graduation degree in the following fields.

Medicine
Agriculture
Pharmacy
Good Technology
Dairy Technology
Public Health
Veterinary Science

You should have degree from a certified university to apply for the exam.

The age limit to appear in examination is 21 to 35. The upper limit is relaxed for the SC/ST and OBC candidates.
