I am B.com student i want to do Income tax course pplease tall me who can i do the first procedure for that & at which collage or government institut?

Dear friend,
It is not a course. To become an income tax officer there are two options -

1. Appear for the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC. The exam selects candidates for senior positions in various Government Departments including Income tax (IRS). The usual place for such candidates is Asst. Commissioner of Income Tax.
2. Appear in the Combined Graduate level examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission and get selected for Income Tax Inspector, on promotion one can become ITO.

the eligibility criteria for Income Tax Officer course:-

Income Tax Officer Exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit the Income Tax Officer.

Eligibility criteria

1.Qualification:
you should have any degree of a recognized University, or equivalent.

2.Age:
Your age should not be not less than 18 years and not greater than 27 years on the first July of the year of examination.

if you have to completed your B.COM degree then you are eligible for Income Tax Officer course

3.Application form:

For the next exam the application form will be available from first week of February 2012 at SSC official website at http://www.ssconline.nic.in.

Eligibility to be an Income Tax Officer:

Educational Qualification:- for becoming an Income Tax Officer candidate
should hold a Bachelor's degree of any stream.

Age limit:- The candidate must have attained the age of 18 years on 1st July
of the year of examination and must not have attained 27 years of age on that date.
The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
The upper age limit is also relaxed in favor of certain categories of employees working under the Government of India and Defense Services Personnel.

The notification for the examination with relevant details regarding rules and syllabus is published in the month of April in the 'Employment News' / 'Rozgar Samachar' , 'Gazette of India', and in some leading
Newspapers of the country.

Selection procedure: Preliminary Examination,Main Examination,Interview.

Preliminary exam consisting of two papers. The papers are on:

Subject No. Of Question Marks Time
General Intelligence
and General Awareness (Part A)100 100 2 Hrs.

Arithmetic(Part B) 100 100 2 Hr


Main Examination:- Those candidates who are declared qualified in the
Preliminary examination are supposed to take the final exam.

Final examination will consists of two part .Part A will be of written examination and second Part B will be of Personality Test.

Personality Test:- If you are selected then the final stage is the interview.
The aspirants are grilled in the interview to test their personality and mental ability. Then the final list of the successful candidates is prepared.

There are two ways to become a Income Tax Officer. First way is to pass S.S.C exam.

S.S.C means Staff Selection Commission. There is not fix month of this exam therefore keep checking newspaper and internet for the exam dates.

You should be college graduate. Bachelor's agree in any stream would be fine to appear in the exam.

The age limit for the exam is 18-27 years.

The exam will test your:

command on English language

mathematical knowledge

general awareness

The second way is to appear in UGC Civil Services Examination.

Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree from any recognized university of India

Age

On July 1, you should be between 18 to 27 years old.

Make the upper limit 30 for OBC and 33 for SC/ST candidates.

The application form is published in all leading newspapers in the month of April. So keep a check on that.

The first stage is Preliminary Examination that will take place in May or June.

This exam consists two papers of General Intelligence and General Awareness (Part A)

Arthimetic (Part B)

If pass the Preliminary Examination, you will be eligible to appear in Main exam.

The first part of Main exam would be written test with subjects like

English
Arithmetic
