You have to write ICET exam.........Depending on your marks....counselling goes on.....and you an join in particular college as lateral entry i.e. in btech 2nd year........in the same branch of your diploma

Dear friend,

To get lateral entry in colleges you can either
appear for LEET examination which is specially
for diploma degree holder students or students
of final year of diploma degree.
Also you can take the advantage of your diploma
degree by direct admission in 2nd year of B.Tech./B.E.
course by appearing for AIEEE examination and cracking
it with a good rank.

since you have done diploma, you will get admission in b.tech directly into the second year.
for this you will have to give an lateral entry entrance exam. in every state, this exam is different. so you will have to apply for your own state's entrance exam.
the more marks you get in that exam, more will be your chances of getting admission in a good college

Lateral Entry Admission

If you are a diploma student and if you want to take admission in the
B.Tech course then you can take admission in the B.Tech course by
Lateral entry examination. You can apply for the lateral entry examination in the final year of B.Tech.

Many Institute offer for this program. You can take admission in the
direct 2nd year of B.Tech course. As you are in the final year of diploma
then you can apply for the lateral entry examination in this year.
You can also appear in the AIEEE examination many state and private
engineering college offer for this program.
