Generally to become a pilot you have to go through 3 stages ~ there is no better time to become a commercial pilot in india,because the aviation sector is growing by 25 % every year. PROCESS ~ 1.At first you have to join a flying school which is being approved by DGCA. 2.then you have to undergo the license for SPL (student pilot licence ) ABOUT SPL ~ it is the first stage in the process of becoming a pilot, you have to undergo a objective test of maths,aerodynamic,aircraft,engines etc. you have to score 75 out of 100 to pass the test and after passing you will obtain the SPL licence. the cost of these course is 100000 rs. then you have to go for PPL (private pilot licence ) ABOUT PPL ~ it is the second stage,it consist of practical and theory exams. the practical consist of 60 hrs of flying, 40 hrs with the instructor and 20 hrs solo flying. the traning period is of 2 yrs and the cost of course is 200000 - 500000 rs. you have to pass the theory paper conducted by the DGCA at last you have to appear for the CPL ( commercial pilot licence ) ABOUT CPL ~ this is the third and last stage of becoming a pilot. this required 200 hrs of solo flying hrs. you have to pass a theory paper consist of subjects like "air regulation " , " aviation meteorology " , "air navigation " , "technical planning " , "communication in radio" and " wireless transmission ". hou also have to qualify the fitness test done by CME (central medical establishment ) period of course - 1 yr cost of course - 800000 - 1500000 rs. NOTE ~ after having the cpl licence you have to work as a trainee co-pilot for 6-8 months, and then you can become a co-pilot in any airlines. Percentage is not required for become a pilot, but you have to complete 12th standard with PCM subjects. To join as a pilot (indian airforce) you need appear NDA(National Defence Academy), this exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year i.e NDA-I, NDA-II. Three types of wings in NDA: Indian army, Indian navy, Indian airforce. Educational qualification: 12th standard from a recognised state board. Percentage is not required to appear this exam. For airforce and navy wings PCM subjects are must. Age criteria; 16.5 years to 19 years, there is no age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates. Nationality: Citizen of INDIA. Important note: You must be physically fit. Unmarried male candidates are eligible, girls are not eligible for NDA. Selection process; Written test, Interview, Medical test. Important dates for NDA-II: Date of notification: 05-may-2012, Last date of receipt of application forms: 04-june-2012, Date of examination: 19-aug-2012.
