On completing the course you will basically will be an expert in the areas related to the legal aspects of the company. So you will find opportunities as the legal compliance officer of the company. You will need to advise the board on the best practices in corporate governance. Also you will be able to advice on areas like security laws, corporate laws etc. Your role will basically be a strategic adviser to the company.

I was a B.Com student in bangalore university but unfortunately I discontinued my study. cleared 2 semester in I class in the year 2006, can I aplly for further studeis in Bangalore unversity?

Company secretary course eligibility criteria:-


There are several stages in company secretary course ie, foundation programme, executive programme and professional programme.

In addition to it the student needs to undergo 15 hours of training session.

Foundation programme can be pursued by students who have passed 10+2 exam with arts, commerce or science subjects.

For executive programmes only the graduate students are eligibile expect for the fine arts students.

And lastly those who clear the executive programme can dothe professional programme.

The Institute of company Secretary of India develops & regulates the profession of company secretaries in India.There are three levels of a Company Secretary Course as under-

1. Foundation Courses : It is a basic-level course that is of eight-month duration and the eligibility criteria a include passing the 10+2 examinations.

2. Intermediate Courses : The duration of the Intermediate Course is nine months and once you clear the Foundation Course of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India or ICWAI, ICAI or have earned a Bachelors / Master's degree, you can enroll for the course.

3. Final Courses : Once you complete and clear the intermediate course, you are eligible for the Final course.

Scope-
Company secretary has a great scope of employment in Private companies, consulting firms, financial institutions, banks, Department of company affairs and other regulatory bodies. Nowadays, you can consider options in capital markets and financial services industry. You can assist in administration, management, planning and general running of the company paving path to being the company's chief administrator.

Company Secretary course is reulated by Institute of Company Secretaries of Inida (ICSI).
This is a very prestigious course which you can do after passing your 12th from any stream from a recognised Central or State University.

The Course is divided into three stages:-
1.Foundation Course.
2.Executive Course.
3.Professional Course.

The foundation Course is the first stage of this course.From this time,it will be conducted in objective type.
The subjects that are to be studied in this stages:-
1.English and Business Communication.
2.Business Economics and Business Environment.
3.Financial Accounting.
4.Elements of Business Laws and Management.
5.Information Systems and Quantitative Techniques.

The next stage of this course is Executive.You can qualify for this stage if:-
1.If you have passed the Foundation Course.
2.If you have done your graduation or passed CA or CWA.

This stage is divided into two groups:-
Group I contains four papers:-
1.Comapny Accounts and Cost and Management Accounting.
2.General Laws and Commercial Laws.
3.Management Information Systems.
4.Tax Laws.

Group II also contains four papers:-
1.Company Law.
2.Company Secreterial Practice.
3.Economic,Labour and Industrial Laws.
4.Securities Laws and Regulation of Financial Markets.

After qualifying Executive stage,you can qualify for Final stage
which is further divided into three groups.

There are many employment options for a Company Secretary in both private and public sector.
Some of the employment areas are:-
1.Banks.
2.Government Departments.
3.Private Companies.
4.Stock Exchanges.
5.Financial Institutions.
6.Consultancy Firms.
7.Company Law Boards.
8.Departments of Company Affairs.

it gud to hear tat u have done B.A.L.L.B. U can choose cs as ur carrer bcoz now a days it has great scope.
