Should I aim to score in entrance exam or board exam? Will the preparation of CBSE board be enough for AIEEE exam?
heyI have entered 12th grade. I'm badly confused whether to go for entrance preparation or to Score Good marks(90+) in CBSE 12th boards . Will just the thorough preparation of CBSE help me get into AIEEE??

Preparing for CBSE Board alone will not be enough for the AIEEE.In 12th you need to concentrate both on your 12th CBSE Board and even on competitive exams like AIEEE,IIT JEE,BITSAT and other such exams.
Well according to me for the Physics and Chemistry part you can go through quality text books like Physics by H.C. Verma, I.E. Irodov , General Chemistry by J.D. Lee and even NCERT Books of both the subjects. It depends upon your preparation. If you study the topics in depth and solve various type of problems then it means that your almost near to the AIEEE preparation.Just try out this method and later try to solve out the bits from previous question papers. For the Maths part you can prefer NCERT,Maths by M.L. Khanna. For maths you need to solve more and more bits.In AIEEE you need to solve more number of bits hence you need to solve out the sums with shortcuts.Hence if your prepare the CBSE Board in a pre-planned manner then you have almost covered the AIEEE part. |

Obviously CBSE/Board Exams prepration will not do wonders in entrance test, you have to put extra efforts.
But you can also not afford to loose Board examination. Some of us find solution of this by dropping a year after board examination. According to me you should give first prefrence to board examination over entrance test. You need not to score 90+ or some if you are with aim of Engineering Entrance exams. If you consider coaching as your solution to this problem then take it from a good reputed coaching institutes only, you may also take private tutions which will guide you for cbse and entrance as well. If you are planning to drop a year than give yourself enough time to think about that as it is tough decission, atleast for me and not sure shot for selection in any good reputed collage. |

Quote:
It is fact that preparing only for CBSE will not get you a good rank in AIEEE. If you want to do BSc through any university then you should concentrate mainly on CBSE to meet the cutoffs of good colleges. If you are interested in BTech then I suggest you to prepare thoroughly for AIEEE, IIT-JEE, etc. and take up coaching classes. Best Of Luck |

If u aim to score more than 90+ percentage in cbse board exam,u can score more marks in aieee exam...
In additional preparation to the aieee syllabus,u can crack the exam... Regards <yogi> |

Hello,
From what I've felt, you can easily prepare for the boards and simultaneously prepare for AIEEE. Although you need dedicated classes in order to secure a rank in JEE, since the syllabus is more inclusive and needs better techniques which are not at all required at 12th level. However, if you wish to secure a good rank in AIEEE (<10000), then your attentive study of the NCERT books only will suffice for Physics, as well as Chemistry. That said, you can always look up reference books for some typical questions. And you need to have a reference book for Mathematics, as the NCERT book on the subject is too basic. Overall, I will recommend you to get a course material package of any reputed institute, such as FIITJEE, and use it after you have gone thoroughly through the NCERT books. |

It all depends on your capacity, many score 90+ and as well gets admission in top institutes through entrance examinations.
Many institutes have upto max 80% as eligibility criteria and not more than , so if you can score that mucheasily, then can also take coaching alongside for engineering entrance exams like iit, aieee, bits , vit etc. There are many coaching programs are available like : 2 yr classroom program 1 yr class room program weekends classes after 12th passed So you choose any one of the above. |

Bot exams are important for your career. Coming to board exams, 75% and above is must to attend for any interview which you hav to face after the completion of your graduation and entrance exams are much more important than your board exams. concentrate on your entrance exams.. CBSE syllabus is enough for your AIEEE entrance exam. be strong in your basics. Refer to previous year question papers.....

No u should prepare separately for 12 boards and for the JEE exams which replaced AIEEE as in competitive exams questions are bit tricky
