Re: Should I opt for GATE or CAT while pursuing B.Tech in EC branch?
You should never take it like you have two options after B.Tech.
Whenever you will take it like options, you will get confused. If you think deep you will find four options rather than two. You can score a good rank in GATE or You can score good percentile in CAT or Maybe both or Maybe none These thoughts are just to confuse people rather than showing way. You need to stand on a final decision of yours whether you want to stay in technical field of yours or you want to change field by doing MBA? Once you decide what you have to do then only you can do hardcore preparation for your desires. If you stand in the midway then preparation for GATE/CAT will always be hindered by CAT/GATE. If you analyse all the parameters then you will find GATE much easier than CAT. But, GATE and CAT are two skewed streams. GATE is for them who wish to do higher studies or use it for job in PSUs. CAT is for them who have made their mind to make it to an IIM for MBA. Both of these exams require hard work, patience and lots lots of practice. For, you are supposed to cover all your core engineering papers very well and some practice over mathematical aptitude. In CAT syllabus, except Vocab Building everything else is practice only. Vocab Building also requires practice but it includes memorising part too. |

There are a number of options after completion of engineering. It is up to you to choose an option that suits you the best because no one can judge you better than yourself i suppose but choose the one that suits your interest and financial status else you may and up in troubles. After completion of BE/B.TECH you can opt for: >>m.tech >>mba >>job in private firms >>government jobs like bank po's and railway jobs If you are interested in MBA and if you posses good communication skills, i think it is better to go for MBA but if you join or not better attempt the GATE exam in the final year of graduation. It helps you either to land up in a good college for PG course or get a job in the Government firms. Good luck............. |
