There is a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness. Unfortunately, you might face the glitch in getting into the Merchant Navy job. There are courses for various positions which you may prefer to ponder over. There are various courses like 3 years B.Sc. in Nautical Science. Candidates need to be 10+2 with minimum 60 per cent and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. Age limit should be between 17 to 25 years. There is also 2 years Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nautical Science. Candidates should be 10+2 PCM and age limit for the course is 25 years.
