Most of the public sector companies hire engineering graduates for the post of engineering executive trainee and junior engineer. Government firms such as BHEL, ONGC, and SAIL are the major recruiters. Most of these firms consider GATE score for recruitment. Hence it is preferable to obtain a valid GATE score card. Firms like NTPC, ECIL conduct recruitment on the basis of screening test. B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks is required to be eligible for these exams.

You are definitely eligible for the job in Public Sector Undertaking. If you manages to maintain the current 61 percent in the Bachelor of Technology course, it would be good enough for the job in PSU company.

PSU or Public Sector Undertaking is the term used for a company which is controlled by the government. What this means is that government owns at least 51 percent stake in such companies.

These companies are related to various fields including oil exploration, roads, telecom, power etc.

Before you apply please remember that there is no common entrance exam. Each company will issue separate notification and will conduct the exam separately as well.

The notification is published on their official website as well leading newspapers. You should only apply if there is vacancy for Engineering graduates from your stream (EEE).

Secondly you should appear for the General Aptitude Test for Engineering. This entrance exam is conducted for M.Tech but some PSUs do not conduct the written test and therefore ask for the GATE score.

Eligibility

1. Must be able to prove your Indian citizenship.

2. Must have completed Bachelor of Technology course.

3. Should pass B.Tech with 60 percent or more marks.

4. You should clear all pending backlogs else won't be able to appear.

5. The lower age to apply for exam is 21 years.

6. PSU don't hire candidates older than 30 years.

7. OBC candidates however are allowed to appear till 33 years.

8. SC/ST can appear for exam till 35 years.

Dear Friend

PSU stands for the Public Sector Undertakings .The eligibility criteria for joining the different PSU are as follows:

1.You must have completed your bachelor's degree in engineering /technology in streams like Civil,Electrical,Mechanical,ELectronics and communications,production etc.

2.The minimum % of marks in bachelor's degree to be eligible for the PSU is 60% for most of it like HAL,DRDO,NTPC,BHEL,SAIL and for some others it is 65% also.

3.You must have secured more than 60% marks in 10th and 12th from a recognized board.

4.Nowdays these PSU s have started to take candidates through the GATE score that is your rank in Graduate Aptitude test in engineering have become basis for getting shortlisted in PSU.

5.The age limit is 21-30 years with relaxations applicable to reserved category.

After that you will have to go for the

1.Group Discussion

2.Personal interview.

So friend with 64% marks in bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics you are definitely eligible for the PSUs provided that your should have no backlogs.

PSU s are the best place to work for the engineers with handsome salary with other perks and allowances.

Hope the information helps you.

all the best

* For securing job in PSU's you need to crack your gate exam with required percentile . it is the only option that you have to get into public sector .
* Lot of companies like
-> BHEL
-> NTPCL
-> Hindustan
-> IOCL eTC; are recruiting on the basis of gate score only . So concentrate on GATE firstly . got it !
