Is there a physical requirement for post of income tax inspector?

Staff Selection Commission conducts Combined Graduate level examination for the post of Income tax Inspector.

For this exam, minimum academic qualification required is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The age limit is 18-27 years.

It has different stages:

>>Tier I

>>Tier II written test.

>>Personal interview.

When you clear all these three stages, you will be called for the physical test for Income tax inspector.

For female candidates, physical requirement:

>>Height: 152 cms

>>Weight: 48 kgs.

>>Height and weight relaxed by 2.5 cms and 2 kg for member of ST, Assamese, Gorkhas, Garwahlis, Nagaland tribals etc.

>>Walking 1km in 20 minutes and cycling 3kms in 25 minutes.

For male Candidates:

>>Height: 157.5 cms.

>>Chest: 81 cms fully expanded with minimum expansion of 5cms. Relaxed for Gorkhas, member of ST, Garwahlis etc.

>>Walking 1600 m in 15 minutes and 5kms cycling in 30 minutes.

Yes, you must satisfy the physical criteria if you clear the written test and interview of SSC CGL exam for Income tax inspector post. The physical criteria is different for male and female candidates.

For male candidates:

1. Height: 157.5 cms.

2. Chest: 81 cms.

3. Physical test: 1600 m in five minutes, cycling 8 kms in 30 minutes.

For Female candidates:

1. Height: 152 cms.

2. Weight: 48 kgs.

3. Physical test: Walking 1km in 20 minutes, cycling 3 kms in 25 minutes.

There is no such physical requirements are for the post of income tax inspector as in other departments of police force as the work of the tax inspector is to collect the income tax not to fight with criminal but the candidate need to be physically fit so it post fits to the personality of the candidate.

The eligibility for this post is-

>> The candidate to be an Indian citizen and completed the graduation and fall in age group of 18-27 and a relaxation of 3 years for obc and 5 years for physically challenged and SC category candidates given.

>> After the graduation candidate have to qualify the combined graduate level exam held by SSC and should be in the merit as the post of tax inspector are very few.

The exam patter is as given below-

Preliminary exam - Mathematics - 50 marks
English language - 50 marks
Reasoning - 50 marks
G.S. - 50 marks

And Mains exam is as-
Mathematics - 200 marks
English language - 200 marks

Total of 600 marks of all the three exams and each exam is given to a 2 hours time.

# In order to become Income Tax Inspector, one should appear in SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) every year for filling up the posts in various ministries and departments by selecting or shortlisting the candidates for the Main examination.

# Required age limit for the post of inspector are:

* 18 to 27 years of age for the posts of Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector in Central Excise, Inspector for Preventive Officer, Inspector in Assistant Enforcement Officer, Divisional Accountant, Auditor, UDC.

* 20 to 27 years of age for the post of Assistant and Sub Inspector in CBI.


# Required educational qualification:

* Candidate must possess any valid bachelor degree from recognised university.
* Candidate in the final year of graduation are also provisional eligible.

# Note that presently there is no any requirement of any specific physical standards for the posts of Inspector in Income Tax.

# Required physical eligibility conditions for the post of Inspector in Central Excise, Inspector for Preventive Officer, Inspector in Assistant Enforcement Officer are:

* Minimum height must be 165 cm for male candidate and 150 cm for female candidate.Height
* Candidate must have chest of 75 cm (unexpanded) and of 80 cm (expanded)
* There is a walking test of 1600 meters to be covered in 15 minutes.
* Candidate has to pass cycling test by covering distance of 8 kms in just 30 minutes.

# Other required physical standards for the post of Inspector in Central Excise, Inspector for Preventive Officer, Inspector in Assistant Enforcement Officer are:

* Must have 6/6 vision.
* Must not suffered from any critical or serious disease
* Must not suffered from colour blindness or night blindness.
* Must not have Knock Knee.
* Must not have Flat Feet.

Income Tax Officer exam is generally conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Commission) every year.

-The candidate must have any degree from a recognized university of India.

-The candidate age limit to apply for the exam is from 18 years to 27 years.There is relaxation in upper age limit for OBC candidate by 3 years, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for PWD.

Physical Requirements:

Height :157.5 cm

Chest :81 cm ,with expansion of at least 5 cm .

Physical Test:
i)Walking:1600 meters in 15 minutes
ii)Cycling:8 Km in 30 minutes

The selection exam for the post is held in three stages.

Stage 1: Written Objective type Examination (Tier 1)

A. General Intelligence + Reasoning - 50 marks
B. Gen.Awareness-50 marks
C. Quantitative Aptitude –50 marks
D. English Comprehension -50 marks

Total Marks - 200
Duration: 02 hours


Stage 2 : Written Conventional type Examination (Tier 2)

I.Quantitative Abilities : 200 marks (100 Questions)
Duration: 2 hours
II.English Language & Comprehension: 200 marks.

Total Marks : 400
Duration : 2 hours


Stage 3: Personality test/Interview (100 Marks)

Let me tell you the eligibility criteria to become the income tax officer, so that apart from what you are looking you have the complete knowledge of the exam and its pattern that has to be given for the same.So, it is as follows-

1. Indian Citizen
2. Graduation from any recognised university of India.

So, as yo can see, there is nowhere written about any physical standards so you need to worry about that.

No for income tax inspector there is ni physical requirement. Only you have to qualify exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission.
