Details About IAS:


IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service which is one of the Indian Civil Service exam conducted for candidate to join in for the post of IAS officer.This exam is conducted every year

You need to pass the following in order to join in as a IAS Officer:

> Preliminary Exam
> Main Exam
> Interview

There are criteria's which are needed to be satisfied in order ot apply for the IAS exam and they are:

Eligibility For IAS:

Nationality:

~ You must be a citizen of India

Age Limit:

~ The age limit needed by the candidate in order to apply for the IAS Exam is that the candidate must have 21-30 years of age.

~ There are certain upper age relaxation for other category candidates.

Education Qualification:

~ Education qualification needed is that the candidate must have completed a degree from a recognized university and it might be from any discipline.

~ Even final degree exam candidates can also apply for the exam.


As asked for the information regarding the IAS exam attempts,there is no allocation for Central Government Employee

For SC/St candidates there is No Limit

For OBC it is 7

For General Candidates it is 4

First of all there is no specific exam as IAS exam, to become an IAS(Indian Administrative Officer), one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Examination conducted by UPPSC once every year.

As you want to know regarding age limitation for Central Govt. Employees, there is no such specific age limit for them.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR CIVIL SERVICE EXAM:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National
-Should have either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

The selection is through three phases:-

-Preliminary exam called as CST-Civil Service Aptitude Test

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

There is certain restriction to number of attempts to Civil Service Exam:-

For General candidate - Four attempts

For OBC candidate - Seven attempts

For SC/ST candidate - No restrictions

Everybody knows that in today it is very much difficult to get job. Many bright students loose many valuable year to compete to get a secured job, he/she might not be able to get a job in a single or double chance and consequently age limit crossess. why not the employer ttak consider upper age relaxation for all categories for the frshers job should 35 years for all the categories in all the section including bank and other public as well as private sectors.sectors

You should pass the bachelor degree with any stream from any recognized university.

Final year candidates are also eligible for this exam.

Gender:

Both male & female candidates are eligible to become IAS officer.

Age limit for ias exam is 18 to 35 for general category and relaxation in age given to those students who are belonging to SC/BC/OBC/ST etc.

Sir,plz sugges me any relaxation for gen candidate in civil service exam

WHAT IS THE AGE RELAXATION FOR 3YEAR RAILWAY EMPLOYEE IN CIVIL SERVICES EXAM ?

At present I'm working as in cag. office and my age is 46 years old... any special condition may make me to appear in the IAS examination... if i will give in writing that it was my dream to appear in the same exam.. is there any possibilities..Normally this will never be done, that I know... I want to know is there any such special consideration can be done for all those who never appeared in IAS exam.
Please answer me.
