Re: What to do after 12th if interested in Maths?
If you specifically want to specialise in Mathematics then you must first complete your graduation in the same. Thereafter complete your Masters too in the same field. After that you can consider going into the actuarial field. This is a pretty interesting field. Make sure to pursue the same from reputed institutes.

Re: What to do after 12th if interested in Maths?
If you are interested in Maths then its very good because its the only subject which haunts students.
If you are from a science stream then Engineering is best for you & if you are from Commerce stream then go for CA-CPT as these courses have blooming future. Or you can also try for traditional course like B.Sc,B.A and then try for master degree and after that you can do P.hd in Maths. |

Re: What to do after 12th if interested in Maths?
if you are interested in mathematics then after 12th you should study B.Sc in Mathematics if you really want to study only mathematics.
but if you are good enough in physics also then engineering is best option. you should appear in various engineering entrance examination. if you are able to secure good rank in engineering entrance examination then you should take admission in engineering. otherwise go for other option. you may also take admission in BCA, BBA etc professional course. but i think now a days B.sc in mathematics is the best option as you are interested only in mathematics. now you should decide according to your interest for which course you will go. best wishes. |

Re: What to do after 12th if interested in Maths?
Sure its a good thing if you like mathematics,
but first be sure that you want to make your carrier in mathematics, there are really a lot of choices if you are from a mathematics stream, you can do B.Sc. in mathematics, But also at the same time I suggest you can also go for other courses like B.Tech. now it’s a very good choice as I think you can make a good use of all the mathematical concepts while you understand real world things and calculation related to real objects, I can only suggest but the final decision will be yours and you can really go for many courses, Mathematics is just in every science branch. |

Re: What to do after 12th if interested in Maths?
Maths is a very scoring subject & is useful too in many courses. You can do-
!. Bachelor in computer application 2. Bachelor in business administration 3. Maths honours 4. Teachers training course and opt maths as your teaching subjects. 5. Any engineering courses After completing your graduation you can do Applied Mathematics Courses i.e the traditional courses having sufficient applications in areas of data interpretation, astronomy, quantitative techniques, and inventory management. Statistical techniques are also areas of applied mathematics. Studies in applied mathematics are highly specialized and are taught by premier universities and science colleges. Candidates after having completed applied mathematics courses in India are given assignments in research institutes and academies for various capacities. Re: What to do after 12th if interested in Maths?
Quote:
i want to guide you that its valent good that you are interested in mathematics because few people are interested in this subject... there are many choices in front of youlike non-medical,commerce etc.... Science There is a common belief that science is the most important subject, compared to humanities or even commerce. There is also a general feeling in our society that the best students opt for science. This is an assumption of most parents, students and teachers. In fact, brilliance and intelligence is not the exclusive preserve of science. If a student is interested in doing engineering courses, such as civil, mechanical, electronics, metallurgy, computers, the option should be for a combination of mathematics, physics and chemistry (MPC). If you wish to take up medicine, dentistry, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology), the combination should be biology, physics and chemistry (BiPC). It is true that the advantage of choosing science stream is that you can shift to the other two streams viz., humanities and commerce after 10 + 2. It also opens up the gateway to a large number of career and course options, even if you cannot make it to the most coveted courses in engineering, medicine or agriculture. In several universities, particularly in the South, besides the usual combinations, such subjects as microbiology, computer science can be chosen at the BSc level. Apart form doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration, hotel management, tourism management. You can also opt for courses outside the university stream, such as hotel management, fashion technology, industrial design, packaging, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses and a host of post 10 + 2 level vocational courses. However, if you are very clear that science is not your cup of tea, there is no point in wasting two precious years simply because it keeps many options open. It would rather be desirable to explore the opportunities the other fields offer. Arts/Humanities It is not widely appreciated that humanities also offer many options after 10 + 2 other than the usual BA degree course. Except for courses in science and technology areas, they can take up many other courses such as travel & tourism, advertising, journalism, performing arts, business management, etc. Humanities is also the favourite choice of many students who sit for the civil service examinations. Commerce Next to science, commerce stream opens up a variety of options after 10 + 2 stage. Some examples are: company secretary-ship, chartered accountancy, cost accountancy, business management, computer. Although chartered accountancy, cost accountancy or company secretary-ship course can be taken up after 10 + 2 (after successfully completing the Foundation Courses) you should be aware that each year only a small percentage of those who take the examinations get through. It may, therefore, be wise to obtain the basic BCom degree first. BCom with Computer as one of the combinations is now a much sought after course In all the three streams, students can now opt for job-oriented vocational subjects at the first degree level available in selected colleges affiliated to many universities. Another recent development has been the diversification of courses, professional in nature, at the first-degree level itself, although the number is institutions offering such course is still small. International postgraduate programmes of five-year duration after 10 + 2 in several subjects are being introduced by some universities Whatever stream you may select, you should put in your best efforts, which would surely lead to the path of success. Obtaining high marks in the qualifying examinations will put you in a comparatively better position to get into the course of choice after the 10 + 2 level. thank you........... |

Re: What to do after 12th if interested in Maths?
Best possible option will be to go for engineering as it will help in flourishment of your career too.
You can try for entrance exams like IIT-JEE,AIEEE,state-level entrance exams, etc. You can also try for B.Sc Mathematics or B.Sc Statistics . But let me tell you one thing when you choose maths at B.Sc level there is very less amount of calculaion part in your study. You will be required to solve lots of theormes , proofs ,etc. In fact the entire syllabus will be concicting of theorems & theoritical maths & very less amount of calculative part will be there as it is in maths. So keep it in mind before selecting maths at B.Sc level. You can also try for B.Sc Statistics. After doing B.Sc you can continue in same stream upto M.sc & later on upto Ph.D. So sky is the limit here .You just need to have dedication, hardwork & ofcourse intelligence & interest in that subject. You can also try for other courses like BCA,BBA,B.Sc(Computer Science/Information Technology),B.E.,B.Tech.B.Arch,etc. |
