Re: What is the eligibility for IAS? I have passed 12th
At the moment you can not apply for the Indian Administrative Service. You will first have to complete graduation and only then you are eligible for the Indian Administrative Service entrance exam which is called Civil Services Examination.
Depending on the subjects you have taken in 12th standard, I will recommend you to apply for a graduation course. For example if you had taken Phyiscs, Chemistry and Maths in 12th standard then better go for the Bachelor of Technology course. Once you have completed graduation you would be free to apply for the Indian Administrative Service. For which you must clear Civil Services Examination. To apply for the Civil Services Examination you will have to wait for the official notification from the Union Public Service Commission. Read the notification carefully and apply properly. Any mistaken would mean that you may not be allowed to appear for the exam. IAS Eligibility 1. Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. 2. Only those who have completed graduation. 3. Marks in graduation are irrelevant. 4. You should be of 21 years to apply for it. 5. Must be below 30 years for the exam. 6. The relaxation in upper age limit is 3 years for OBC. 7. Relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST. 8. There are no physical criteria. 9. General candidates gets 4 attempts to clear it. 10. OBC candidates have 7. 11. While there is no limit for SC/ST. Selection Procedure 1. Preliminary Exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview |
