i am pursing b.tech. Am I eligible to write civil services examination?

Hello Arjun,
A graduate in any discipline is eligible for Civil service exam. The candidate should have attained the age of 21 years and should not be over 30 years. (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC). |

During your B.Tech, you can't appear in Civil services examinations. But after completion of your degree, you will be eligible for writing civil services examination. So, kindly complete your B.Tech degree, then think about civil services exams, but you can start preparation from now, as you can prepare for the Prelims test of civil services. good luck. |

yes offcourse you can give all the civil services exam which need graduation degree. as your b.tech degree is also a graduation degree you can easily sit in these exams except the branch c.se where the possibility of government job is allmost nill.

yeah definitely we can go with the civils exam which will be conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) the basic elgibility of CIVILS examination is you should have any degree from Indian Universitys and you have to fill the age requirements prescribed by UPSC i.e . after completing your degree you must get 21 years of age of the exam year and the max age limit is 30 years for general and 33 years for sc/st candidates and also beaware of the latest updates of civils exam for further details go through the following link www.onestopias.com all the best ~aditya~ |

Ans.Yes,if you are graduate from B.TECH so you are eligible for civil services examination.Your age should not be smaller than 21 or not be greater than 30 years.(5 years relax for SC/ST).

Yes. Any indian with a graduation of any course which means you must have
completed a degree of any course or in the final year are eligible for attending UPSC exam. You are age limit must from 21 to 30 for being eligible for attending UPSC exam. |

YES you can apply for civil services exams.you need to have a bachelor degree in any stream.The eligibility for UPSC exams is
1. Citizenship : A Candidate must be either :- 1. A citizen of India, or 2. A subject of Nepal, or 3. A subject of Bhutan, or 4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malavi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam. or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. |

If you fulfill with below requirement,you can appear for IAS exam.
Civil services contains IAS,IPS,IFS....exam. The educational qualification required for civil services exam is a graduation from a recognized university by the government of INDIA. As you are doing B.Tech so you easily fulfill their criteria as the degree is a graduation degree.So after your b.tech you can write civil services exams. age criteria: GENERAL: 21-30 years obc's: 21-33 YEARS SC/ST: 21-35 years. all the best regards, piyush |

There is no doubt, B.Tech degree holder can appear in civil services exam. To Appear In Civil services examination, the minimum qualification required is Graduate degree in any discipline . As you know that the civil Service exam is conducted by the UPSC every year.
To appear for the exams, you need to fulfill certain eligibility criteria such as: Educational Qualification: A graduate in any field from a recognized university.Final Year students can also apply. Age Limit: Candidate must be minimum 21 years of age as on 1st August of the year of the exam. Upper age limit is 30 years(Relaxations for SC/ST, OBC). So as you are doing BTech, you do stand eligiblr for the exam, however, you either must be in the final year of the engineering, or must have completed the same. Before that you cannot appear. After one year preparation should appear for the IAS examination.
For applying for these exams you have to be a Graduate from any recognized university around 50% marks. Age-between 21 to 28. Number of attempts: 4 attempts for General category candidates 7 attempts for OBC category candidates Unlimited attempts for sc/st category candidates all the best |
