NDA examination is a way to Join Defence just after completing his Intermediate examination, those who are interested to Join Army, Navy and Air force wings may apply for NDA Examination, this examination is conducted by UPSC, two times in a year.

**NDA Examination is only for Unmarried male candidates.

**Girls are not eligible for NDA because girls are not fit as compared to boys at the age of 16.5 to 19 years.

**But Girls are not eligible to Join Defence with the help of NDA Examination.

Training in NDA is also very tough and girls are not fit for NDA Training, so this is the main reason that girls are not eligible for NDA.

Girls can only choose officer's training Academy only as the preference at the time of filling online application form.

Your age should between 19 to 25 years to apply for CDS Examination.

The eligibility for the National Defence Academy(NDA)is-:

For ARMY=12th pass from a recognised board.

For AIR FORCE and NAVY=12th pass with Physics and Mathematics as the subjects.

Those appearing for the 12th examination can also apply for the NDA examination conducted by the UPSC.


As you are in your final year of your graduation,it might be very much possible that your AGE wouldn't meet the required AGE criteria which is as follows-:

16.5 years to 19 years.

These writings is not for discouraging you, but I think you are late for NDA examination as there one of the criteria is according to their norms must between 16.5 to 19 years. As you are a student of BCA 3rd year and guessing already you are over 19 or there will some months to cross your age as 19 if there is no special case. So, I am not going to discuss further on the same topic rather it is suggested or better for you that you do not change your career line and try to pass with good percentage then you will have many choices through which you can make your future bright. No , you are not eligible to apply for NDA Examination . NDA Examination is conducted for Intermediate candidates and not for degree holders .

To apply for the NDA examination , you have to completed higher secondary level examination of a recognized Institution or equivalent qualification and No minimum marks required to apply for this examination . Studying in the higher secondary level final examination may also eligible to apply. You must have a minimum 16.5 years and maximum 19 years and No relaxation is given to the reserved categories. to become an officer in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force and looking for NDA & NA exam (II) notification? UPSC has released the notification of NDA 132 course and NA 94th course. Check out complete details of NDA & NA exam II notification, last date to apply and eligibility criteria.


Union Public Service Commission has released notification for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy today. As the UPSC has mentioned earlier that it will announce the notification of NDA & NA exam on 04th May 2013, today UPSC has released it promptly without any delay.

Vacancies available in NDA & NA exam (II)

There are total 355 vacancies to be filled up by UPSC. Out of 355 vacancies, 300 vacancies are available in National Defence Academy's 132 course. Indian Naval Academy has 55 vacancies for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme. Out of 300 vacancies of NDA course, 195 seats are reserved for Indian Army, 39 are reserved for Indian Navy and remaining 66 seats are reserved for Indian Air Force. Candidates need to give preference of the courses while applying for NDA & NA exam (II).

Eligibility criteria to apply for NDA exam II 2013
Applicant should fulfill the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for NDA & NA exam (II).

Applicant must be Indian citizen.
Applicant's date of birth should fall between 02 July 1995 and 01 January 1998 both dates are included.
For date of birth proof, UPSC will consider matriculation certificate only. No other documents are considered by the commission.
Applicant should submit the academic certificates after being shortlisted for SSB interviews.
Educational qualifications required

In order to apply for Army wing of National Defence Academy, applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam in any stream.
For Air Force Academy and Navy wings of NDA, candidate should have Mathematics and Physics subjects in his 10+2 exam.
Candidates who are studying in second year of 10+2 exam are also eligible to apply for NDA & NA exam (II).
For Naval Academy also applicant must have studied Physics and Maths at 10+2 level.
How to apply and last date to apply for NDA & NA examination II

Online applications of NDA & NA exam II are available in UPSC's official website from today.
Applicants may submit their applications up to 03rd June 2013.
